Hello all! Do any of you know of any brethren in need in Haiti? I know of several who would love to help, but I have no idea how to go about gathering information. Thanks!

For any of you not on facebook, here's a link to some pictures of Tanner's new fort if you're interested. David's dad built Tanner one in our front yard. Lots of fun!

Tanner's school mascot is the mustangs. The following is a conversation we overheard from one of his classmates as soon as he saw his momma after school.
"I ain't never gonna come back to this kindergarten."
"Why not?"
"'Cause they got horses all over the place!" (followed by intense crying)
Maybe I shouldn't have laughed since he was obviously upset, but I thought that was too funny!
Another good day today for Tanner. He said he only cried once today. :-) He's doing well, I think. Still transitioning of course, and still things for us to all get better at, but overall he's doing great!
Today was way harder on Allie. She was so bored and therefore cranky and clingy. She's never had to entertain herself since she's always had Tanner around. This will be good for her.
Today was also harder on me. I just miss my little buddy. And I worry so much about him being the new kid (all of his classmates went to Mumford's Pre-K and know each other) and having trouble making friends and fitting in. I just need to relax. It helps me to know that Tanner is adjusting well.
Thanks to all of you for listening to my daily ramblings! :-)

"We did our math in an apple!"
"My teacher says, '2,4,4,2' and we say, 'All eyes on you!'"
"I made a friend today, but I can't remember his name. I asked him to come to my birthday party and he said, 'But I don't know where you live.' I told him, 'I live in Texas. In Benchley.'"
"I cried twice today because I missed y'all so much."
"You wanna know how fun school is? Funner than home!"
So many emotions from all of us today, but overall a very positive experience. So many people have called to check on him or emailed or messaged in some way. The love is overwhelming! We took his poster along that you sweet Benchlikins made for him. It's so special to him. It has helped alleviate his fears. We also listened to Bob Marley's "Three Little Birds" on the way. It's such a happy song and we've had so much fun listening to it. It put him in a good mood this morning. He's ready to go back tomorrow and even try eating a school lunch. :-)
Again, thanks so much for your prayers on our behalf. They have helped tremendously! :-)
(By the way, if you are interested and haven't seen them yet, pictures from his Meet the Teacher night and First Day of Kindergarten are on the previous post.)

Well, Tanner's first Meet the Teacher Night has come and gone, and we've already dropped him off at his first day of school. He did great! There was some anxiety this morning, but he quickly replaced that with excitement. In fact, when we got to school he was already in friend mode. He was so smiley and excited to make friends. In fact, he was less shy than some of the other kids who had already been to Mumford's Pre-K. Here is a link to some pictures we've taken from these firsts in Tanner's school career.

I'll post an update later after we pick him up to tell y'all how he did. :-)
Thanks so much for all your prayers. I did great since Tanner did so great. I had a teary moment when we were walking him in, but it was hard to get all worked up when he was so calm and happy. We hugged him, and he just got right to work and didn't miss us a bit. :-) I love that kid so much and am so proud of him. I pray he'll be a shining light to his classmates.
(As I watch the slideshow I realize some of the pictures are a little out of order. He wore the airplane shirt to Meet the Teacher Night and the red shirt to his first day. Sorry if it's kind of confusing.)
