yay for wet shoes

So today was a beautiful day. It rained a lot and it was cloudy all day. I love days like that.

I also like Jesus a lot.

I think we think too much. We think ourselves to death. I know the bible is FULL of ideas, thoughts, deep moral and ethical issues. I know, but I can't stop thinking about the people of the first century chruch. They didn't have a bible to argue about. They had faith, trust, hope...Jesus. They didn't rest all of the hopes and dreams on a doctrinal idea or on a group of people (chruch). They threw all of the hope and all of their lives into Christ...and thats what unified them. We need to put ourselves asides and challenge ourselves to act like those people. We say, "but it was so different back then"..we say that to make ourselves feel better. We need to wake up and realize we only get one life. Don't waste your life on stupid stuff that other people tell you is important, instead find out what Christ said is important and make that your life. For once in your life put everyting everyone has told you to the side and listen only to Jesus, it might just save your life. It saved mine. I still struggle, but knowing Jesus is right there with me in my struggles only gives me strength, not that guily hollow feeling I used to have.

great thoughts nathan. my older brother has this dictionairy thing of different quotes of the early christians and ive flipped through it a few times and its so amazing to see how devoted they were to God. and what you said about how ppl always say,"well it was so different back then." when ppl say that it breaks my heart. bc if we are going to allow our society to take control of what we think about Jesus, then what are we? NOTHING!! again, great thoughts.

I'm working on things, lots of things. I am trying to read my bible more, i'm running more, i'm trying to be more loving...lots of things. But even with trying all the time I still fail ALOT, so that got me thinking. Is it really about what I accomplish or is it about my attitude throughout the entire process. Sure I can work hard enough to attain something, but if I take all the credit instead of giving it all to God was it worth it?

I think I am beginning to realize why God wants our hearts. Sure we could sacrifice things like our TV or our time but David and others say He doesn't want only those 'things' even if we give them in good spirit. He wants us, not our stuff (He has our stuff, its His in the first place) but He wants everything that makes us. Quick analogy that I stole from some one. When a kid is learning how to walk the dad doesn't get mad when the kid falls. He simple helps the child back up and let the kid contiune to struggle through this physical task but the dad also knows the kid will learn how to walk even if it hurts the entire time.
Our God is the same way. When you hurt, when you screw up don't every think God doesn't want you to come to Him. That is why He adopted you. He wants all of you, even your nastiest faults...He wants it all. Don't ever think you are too unimportant for our Father in heaven, take comfort in the thought that He knows and loves each and everyone of us intimatly.

That was long, sorry.

thanks for those thoughts.All God ever wanted us to do is to love Him and follow His commandments. That's all we're asked to do. Lots of times ppl make it a whole lot harder than that....God is forgiving if we repent.

Well, i'm here at work and I forget how easy my life is. I sit back and complain about how much I have to do. Or the things that need to get done, but everything I do is cake compared to most of this world. So many people live very hard lives. I just forget that God wants me to worship Him through everything, my work, my chores, my errands that I have to run. I never stop being a follower of Christ, so why do I think I can take breaks?

All I know is that God loves me no matter what I have done to Him. His love is talked about on every page of the bible. It is ridiculous how much He loves us. Even when we hate Him and His son, our Savior, He still has our back and still wants the best for us. Crazy huh?

Live like you are free from your sin, don't live like you are still trapped by your sins. We are a free people! Praise God for His amazing grace and love!

Have a great day and don't go a day without thanking Him for something, but try to thank Him for everything.

I am sitting here listening to the rain and thinking about how blessed I am. Sure I have an amazing girlfriend, great friends, a great group I worship with, and so many other things. But I was thinking today, if all of these things leave me or are taken from me? I am still blessed because i can see, hear, taste, talk, and even walk. So many people live their lives not being able to do all of these things. We are all truely blessed no matter how bad we think we have it.

Life is 10% what happens and 90% how you deal with it. It is all about how you see your life...do you think you are blessed? If you don't get out some paper and write down the good things in your life, i bet you will find a lot more than you thought you would.

Thank you Father, you are always there for me no matter what I do to you.

So have you ever realized how good of a life you have? Honestly sit back and think about all of the blessings you have. I did this after I wasn't very happy with myself and I found that I was so extremely blessed. I mean I know i am blessed beyond anything I can measure, but I seem to overlook it too much, ya know?

The thing that hit me the hardest is how much God loves me. I think we have all been at the place where we think God is tired of us and He probably doesn't want anything to do with us and then he shows us His amazing grace. What a great feeling.

We are all so blessed. Today, think about your blessings. Focus on the good stuff because I promise you, no matter how bad it seems, the good stuff out weighs the bad. I know that because Jesus out weighs anything bad that stands in our way.

I love all of you so much.

Let me and everyone know what you are struggling with, what you need prayers for, and people that need prayers given up for them.

Tell those around you that you love them. Don't forget how much He loves you. Have an awesome day. God bless.
