All good things must come to an end!
Tonight ended our weekend meeting on parenting with Dick Modin and I am sad to see it come to a close. He is such an awesome example of someone who truly loves the Lord. His passion for children is so inspiring. Maybe I am biased since I know his wife and children, but I loved to hear the personal examples he gave to illustrate the points he was making.
I am blessed with two wonderful boys and I hope and pray we are able to overcome the obstacles that have been placed in our path. Sometimes I think I worry too much about their happiness on this earth (i.e. tyring to give them things they want) in an effort to "make up" for the things they are going through. The best gift I can give them is a strong spiritual grounding and that will get them through everything else.

Nancy, you're doing an amazing job with your boys. -
This weekend was so great :) You are doing a great job with your boys. You are painting a masterpiece on the canvas of their character :) -
Amen! And I think you do a great job at that especially considering how easy it would be to get negative and bitter. You are a great example. -
Nanc, I can so relate to "Sometimes I think I worry too much about their happiness on this earth (i.e. trying to give them things they want) in an effort to "make up" for the things they are going through." Jeri has criticized me in the past of overcompensating to Maria for all of the things she has had to deal with. However, as the children grow you will see good qualities & character traits in them that are a result of what they have had to endure. Just them watching your strength as you persevere and succeed is a great life lesson. -
Eh, long story. I went to a friends house then went to the movies, without my parents consent. Well, they knew about the friend's house, not the movies. It's definitely not worth it now!
