Meet Gigi (as in Good Girl)

I guess this post is a little overdue, since we've had newest family member for almost two weeks now. It's been so busy here that I haven't taken the time to update. She is 7-1/2 months old, 5.25 pounds (should be about 6-7 lbs. as an adult) and as sweet as can be. She is full of life when you put her down, but a regular cuddle bug when you pick her up. She was a kennel dog so when I brought her home, she had no idea what I wanted her to do when I took her outside but has since figured it out and is doing pretty well with her crate training. She wants to play with Molly all the time, but Molly gets her fill long before Gigi's ready to quit so there are occasional snarls and bantering heard around the house when she's out of her crate.

She had a few health problems when I got her: an ear infection and a skin infection on her muzzle, which the vet shaved to assess and treat so that's why her face looks a little lopsided. (The first ointment didn't do anything to clear it up, so the vet started her on an oral antibiotic and another liquid spray, and they have made a big difference.)

The lighting in the following video clip is not very good, but I love the footage because it shows how she cocks her head when you talk to her, just like Kesha used to do. Talk about Deja Vu. She reminds me so much of Kesha that I've started calling Molly by Kesha's name.

She has added a lot of fun to our household. Jeff's not nearly as big of a dog-lover as me, but he seems to enjoy her company a lot. What's not to love about a puppy?

I hope everything went well with your company!!
Yes, Dan and Jean are in GB...just the kids came. They called a week or so ago--knowing they'd been given an open invite on many occasions--and took us up on the offer during Daniel's break from welding school. It's really been a great visit so far. We've just picked up comfortably!

Hey. The Mc's just left a few hours ago...I'm just getting things in order ;)...the 22nd would be okay, but what about the 29th or April 5th? I'm thinking I may be exhausted by Monday. We have a wedding on Saturday and I've got my bi-monthly dog bathing tomorrow. If you can't do one of the other days, we'll do the 22nd. Just let me know!!

I can sure understand how you'd be exhausted! Let's go with the 5th then. Our member's mother is still lingering and has lasted longer than anyone (hospice included) thought possible, so there is a good chance that her funeral or the preparations would have prompted us to need to change the date anyway. So we'll plan the 5th, Lord willing! I can't wait - it's been too long!

I'll never forget that drive to Rapid. She and I cried the whole way and we stopped to nurse every hour or so ;)...I still remember looking at the Jonathans in that huge truck with all our stuff in it...they've grown up so fast...

We can't wait to see you guys, too!!
