I am currently on Spring Break and in St.Charles.
Highlights of my time at home:
*Worshipping with the congregation I grew up in yesterday
*Having Sunday lunch at my sister's house and spending time with my nephew. Then a few Easter eggs were hidden, and my sister "helped" baby Jaden find some eggs. He is getting so big and even more handsome. :)
*Pizza with my parents, my sister, and my brother after evening services
*Thrift store shopping with my mom, my aunt, and my sister today: We found some great stuff.
*Taking care of Jaden this evening while my sister got some things done around her house. He is just the best baby--so laid back and happy.
*Dinner--just my sister and I--at her house this evening
*Watching HGTV (and one of my favorite shows, House Hunters) because I don't get that channel!
*Bible reading and discussion with my parents, brother, and sister this evening
*Mall shopping with my mom and aunt tomorrow before I head back to Columbia
What a nice start to Spring Break. I was bummed that Daylon couldn't come with me, but he had to work today. However, I figured I would take advantage of my time off and come see the family. It's been really nice and relaxing so far. I like having time off from school, because the past few weeks have been awfully stressful. It's nice to just relax for a week!

I'm an aunt.
My sister had Jaden David today. He was 8 pounds, 5 ounces. :)
Oh, and I can't forget this: He is absolutely adorable and perfect.
School and second graders completely exhaust me. It was so cold this week that outside recess was pretty much out of the question. Being stuck inside for recess made the kids even wilder than usual.
However, I now have my own desk in the classroom, which is pretty cool.
It's Friday. :)

Well, I was officially done with the semester last Wednesday. I have no finals, so this week is pretty great. :) I don't return to school until January 22nd, and that is when I will officially begin student teaching, as in I will pretty much be taking over a classroom for the rest of my undergraduate career at Mizzou! The good news is: no more classes outside of my regular day teaching! For those curious minds, I will be teaching second grade (7-8 year olds). This six week break will be a nice time for me to relax and get things done before my busiest semester yet!
Next, I had my first job interview last Thursday. It was just a screening interview, which means it is the first of several possible interviews. I had to buy new clothes for it. :) I thought it went fine, and if nothing else, it gave me practice for future teaching interviews. I will have a better idea of what to expect in the next one.
This weekend, I got to spend time with some people that I hadn't been able to spend time with for a while! (due to family stuff back in St.Charles and just a busy semester in general!) It was fun to hang out with the Poppas on Friday and Sunday night, and the Hills on Saturday. :)
Today, I got some Christmas shopping done. Tomorrow, I need to go to work (since I haven't been able to do that all semester long because of school). Daylon got my car out of the ice tonight. I was very happy that I have such a sweet husband because now I don't have to do it tomorrow morning! I hadn't driven it since the first storm hit on Thursday!
What else? I will have a nephew in about a month and a half! Every time I pass anything baby related, I think about all the stuff I want to buy my future nephew. I already have several things for the little guy. Can you tell I may be a little excited?
Our front yard is a small hill, and it is very scary to walk down to the mail box and get in and out from the car when everything is a sheet of ice. Frightening. It is an adventure every time. I never know if I will make it in one piece. :)
I guess that is about it. I'll be taking my BIG test for teaching certification January 12th, so I'm trying to study for that. I don't want to fail it and have to take it again because it is PRICEY.
Anyway, good luck to those who have finals now or coming up soon!
Everyone else: be careful on those roads...and in your front yards!
