End of Semester Life Update

Well, I was officially done with the semester last Wednesday. I have no finals, so this week is pretty great. :) I don't return to school until January 22nd, and that is when I will officially begin student teaching, as in I will pretty much be taking over a classroom for the rest of my undergraduate career at Mizzou! The good news is: no more classes outside of my regular day teaching! For those curious minds, I will be teaching second grade (7-8 year olds). This six week break will be a nice time for me to relax and get things done before my busiest semester yet!

Next, I had my first job interview last Thursday. It was just a screening interview, which means it is the first of several possible interviews. I had to buy new clothes for it. :) I thought it went fine, and if nothing else, it gave me practice for future teaching interviews. I will have a better idea of what to expect in the next one.

This weekend, I got to spend time with some people that I hadn't been able to spend time with for a while! (due to family stuff back in St.Charles and just a busy semester in general!) It was fun to hang out with the Poppas on Friday and Sunday night, and the Hills on Saturday. :)

Today, I got some Christmas shopping done. Tomorrow, I need to go to work (since I haven't been able to do that all semester long because of school). Daylon got my car out of the ice tonight. I was very happy that I have such a sweet husband because now I don't have to do it tomorrow morning! I hadn't driven it since the first storm hit on Thursday!

What else? I will have a nephew in about a month and a half! Every time I pass anything baby related, I think about all the stuff I want to buy my future nephew. I already have several things for the little guy. Can you tell I may be a little excited?

Our front yard is a small hill, and it is very scary to walk down to the mail box and get in and out from the car when everything is a sheet of ice. Frightening. It is an adventure every time. I never know if I will make it in one piece. :)

I guess that is about it. I'll be taking my BIG test for teaching certification January 12th, so I'm trying to study for that. I don't want to fail it and have to take it again because it is PRICEY.

Anyway, good luck to those who have finals now or coming up soon!
Everyone else: be careful on those roads...and in your front yards!
