Walking on Sunshine

Amos took his first steps this evening. He is such a sweet little guy. He smiles and laughs with me all day long. I brushed his teeth tonight and he kept the toothbrush for quite a while afterward, figuring out how to brush them himself. We've been traveling a lot lately, visiting family. Lots of fun, but it's good to be home.

When we flew to Ohio, I left my purse sitting on the dining table. The roads were snowy, so there wasn't time to go back for it once I realized my mistake. So, after much interrogations, they let me on the plane. While we were in the air, a crazy man tried to blow up a plane. I ended up getting a friend from church to go to my apartment and overnight my drivers license to me so that I could fly home with no problems. When we landed in Minnesota, it was very cold and snowy out. We walked to the van in the parking garage to find that the remote unlocker wouldn't work. I had left the dome light on when I was searching the van for my purse, draining the battery completely. So, we found a helpful airline employee to jump start the van. We ended up missing evening services, but we made it home without too much difficulty. I'm hoping next time we leave town, I remember to pack my brain.

Happy New Year!

Go Amos!! He is still greatly missed by a short little girl in our house. I'm glad the crazy man didn't try to blow up YOUR plane, and I'm glad you made it home safe. Hope we get to see you again before too too long. I hope Amos feels lots and lots better soon!

forget your brain, just bring your ID! :) incidentally, no one tried to blow up OUR plane, but we were in the air when it happened, and in relatively close proximity (MSP -- MDW -- CMH. Not the actual waypoints, but you aviators get the idea. translation, we flew from minneapolis to chicago-midway to columbus, OH)

Gotta love the Hiwillys! You are finding out that children consume the parents of brain power. This will continue to drain and never come back. Of all the things I have lost, I miss my mind the most.

What a fun way to start the new year! Well, the walking, not the flying fiasco. :)

aw, well. Every trip has it's quirks. :) We were driving to Indiana and drove about 50 miles on the wrong highway, we ended up in Lexington. Luckly we did get back on the right road and got to the study in time. :) I can look back and laugh now. it was all worth it.
Yay! Amos is getting so grown up! :) miss you all.

My new chef's knife works GREAT! It chopped through onions like butter, and I can even mince garlic one handed! It's amazing what a difference it makes! Thank you sooooo much! I use it at least every day!

Sometimes I forget to take my brain with me places, too. Your story did make me laugh, though! :)
