you can find lost puppies on a farm...
the past month has been so wonderfully busy. i have loved every minute.
i was chosen by the graduating class to be an usher at their graduation. it was an honor. got to get all dressed up and greet everyone. i helped with some of the setup and a couple things during the ceremony. it was great and now i am the senior. i can't wait for this year to begin.
so, graduation was on a saturday, and early sunday morning i left to go to SFA for drum major camp. i went to church in nacogdoches, saw a bunch of people there including zack, and wayne surprised me by showing up there as well. :)
that week was a blast. i met so many other people there. laughed so much, ate too many goldfish, and climbed a couple trees. our days were jampacked and i left camp completely exhausted. i learned a lot and feel more prepared for the upcoming year. i did have a bible study with a very zealous baptist. we talked about a lot of different things... mostly talking in circles, at least on my part... i don't imagine that i could have argued the truth on subjects such as baptism, instrumental worship, salvation on belief alone, and others, any other way. it was truly the best that i could do. i was surprised with the verses that i could come up with under pressure, which made me very happy, but i was disappointed with the outcome of the long conversation: nothing. when i came home, it was brought to my remembrance the verse:
1 corinthians 3:6 "i have planted, apollos watered, but God gave the increase."
maybe there was nothing more that i could do. i have to trust that, in that moment, i did all that i could do.
the week after i got home consisted of
-getting over being sick for a couple days from dehydration, exhaustion, or whatever it was
-preparing for the wedding: rehearsal, dinner, and the big day
it proved to be a busy week. mom had a list of things to do everyday and rather enjoyed scribbling the life out of every item. (i convinced her that it would make her feel better) (it did)
so the wedding: beautiful, exquisite, and unbelievably perfect.
so the bride: all of the above PLUS my new sister!!!!!
so the groom: ummmmm... uhhhh. but i love him.
last week we had a gospel meeting along with vbs. it was great to be able to sit with fellow christians twice a day. we learned about the simplicity of the bible and how obvious the way to be saved is. and at vbs we talked about how we are to teach and lead by example in our daily walk with Christ. it was wonderful. i loved that high school was included in vbs. we were with all classes 6th - 12th. i didn't think that i would enjoy it as much. i thought it wouldn't be anything that i could use. i was wrong. listening to some of the younger kids was very encouraging. they are well on their way.
rachel has gotten me very excited for camp. and the week before camp i will get to go to lindale and spend a week with shanna-kaye, wayne, and everyone else. hopefully i will get to meet a lot of new people. we are going to need a lot of oreos.
and the last bit of information i have to give is that yesterday i lost about a pound. i cut all my hair off. i absolutely love it. i probably lost about 6 or 7 inches. don't freak out. :) you'll get used to it just like i have. it is so much easier to deal with. i have never been that excited for a haircut in all my life. i had a grin ear to ear from the moment i walked in to the salon even til now.
ive been doing the bible reading. ive not exactly been following it because i get too excited and refuse to put my bible away. i have grown to love it more than i ever imagined. if you aren't, i encourage you to pick up your bible and just read. . . look for the characteristics of God and see his providence between the lines of every page. He is and always will be.
kudos to everyone who reads this. i will take the time to post more often so i don't write a novel everytime.
pray often.
