Well, I really don't have any great news, but it seems like forever that I posted anything. I did finally finish the basement and we are moving stuff down there, boy we have a lot of junk. I have cleaned the entire first floor and will work on the upstairs after the kids head off to school Tuesday.

It is really strange have them go to the same school I did, Braiden will actually have 1st grade in the same classroom I had in first grade.

Our a/c went out on Monday, We had a power outage due to a wind storm and after power was restored the a/c did not work anymore. Luckily the relay switch(whatever that is) broke so it was an easy fix. It sure was hot for a while!!

Monday we will have a new drainage system put in to solve our leaky basement problem. I will be so glad when that is done. I have been really nervious that we will get a lot of rain and end up with a mess down there after moving in all the stuff.

That is really about all that is happening here.

I finally got the concrete patching done. Yes, me all 1638 sq feet. When we power-washed we knocked out some of the concrete and there were some places that had very small cracks that needed to be patched. I know it does not sound like much, however it took me 2 days to do it and my legs hurt really bad!

I am also told that over all the basement is in great, I repeat great shape! Tomorrow John and I will roll on a sealer and maybe paint on Monday or Tuesday. Oh yeah, we found out why we have water seeping in one wall in the basement, we have all the water on the back side of this monster house draining down 2 gutters in about a 4 foot area. Yes, you guessed it, that is where we have water in the basement. We are going to have to trench out a ditch and run a plastic pipe(which they call tiles????) to the street to divert the water. Did anyone see the movie Money Pit! ha ha I am just joking. I really do love the place, it is just human to complain to a captive audience.

A friend of mine is going to start working on the breaker box on Monday, so it looks like Wed. I could have my washer and dryer functioning!!!

We have only been in the house 1 week, but man I am tired!

Hello everyone! We finally got to start moving into our new home on Wed. afternoon. We actually slept in our own bed Thursday evening which was soooooooo wonderful. Does missing your bed make you old?

We are starting to get settled in sort of, we still have a lot of unpacking to do. We are currently working on the basement. The basement was used for storage and was pretty dirty and molded due to lack of air circulation. We(me and a friend of mine) sprayed the walls down with bleach water and then power washed all 1638 sq feet of the basement. Oh, did you know if you use a gas power washer with the door shut it will make you sick.......yeah....we had to shut the door to wash one wall area out and before we knew it we were both so sick we had to call John to come and get us. We were much better the next morning. Anyway, we did get that done and will start tomorrow making a few patches to on the places we washed away the concrete, then we will caulk and seal the walls. Finally, we will paint it, but this will not all get finished tomorrow.

John is going to have to install a new line for our dryer. Ours is electric and the connection is gas, so I am going to have to haul laundry to mom and dad's house for about a week. I know that sounds bad, but mom said to drop it off and she would help me out! Pretty sweet!

Waldon and Betty and their granddaughter Casey came to see us and are leaving tomorrow morning. They came up with their fifth-wheel and tomorrow they will continue north to South Dakota to see the sites. Casey is staying with us for a couple of weeks. She is so much help and she keeps me young.

John officially started his job July 2. He has been very busy but loves it. It has been great being here and the kids are having a great summer! The weather is great.....high today was 82. I am trying to soak up all the warm weather because I know what is coming..shhhhhh..don't say the "w" word. :(

Well, it is hard to believe, but it is all packed up! I still have the clothes out, I could not get everyone to agree to the same outfit for a week! Ha Ha

We spend most of the day downloading the attics(yes, there are two) and boxing up the things that were not already boxed up. I am not sure what I am going to do next week. I have four days to sit and wait on the moving truck.

Tonight we went to a cookout, which I thought was a kick off to summer, but turned out to be a going away party. I almost did the ugly cry in front of 30 people. It was really sweet. There was a picture of almost everyone in the congregation with a signed card full of well wishes along with a swedish ivy, that when you looked closely had ribbon intertwined with money tied all along the ribbon.

It really made the move seem real, I know I have been packing but somehow I just have not really processed the whole thing. It is so sad to say goodbye and that seems to be all I am doing lately.

Well, it is a beautiful day! We packed up John's shed yesterday! What a chore that was! I think we should donate it all and live off the land!

Today I think I am taking a packing break and taking the kiddos bowling. It is going to be really hot and humid today and we have had so much rain the mosquitoes are horrible.
