Only two more days

For some time now my family has been anticipating the wedding of our son, Josh, to Audrey. The time has sort of crept by. Now that the week of the wedding is here, it is flying by.

Becky and I think the world of Audrey, she is a sweet girl and treats Joshua like we think he deserves to be treated. She has my respect because of the love she shows my son.

As much as I am happy to see their day approaching I can't help but feel a bit melancholy. I know that on Friday my relationship with Josh will undergo another change. Yes, i will still be his dad and yes I will still feel compelled to offer advise at times. But he will no longer be under the rule of my house. I will not worry about what time he is coming home. I will no longer see or interact with him on a daily basis.

I am so happy for him to find Audrey but I will miss my little buddy!

Need to update

That last post is such a bummer I figured I need to put up something a bit happier.

Since I seem to be drawing a blank on anything witty I will let this suffice.

In a time when there is a lot of really bummer news everywhere, I really have a lot to be thankful for. May the glory go to God for all that I have and do.

Ha...you stress?! I don't know why you would...it's not like you have to perform a ceremony or anything. No pressure! :)

Life under the sun is brief

I have not kept touch with much of my extended family over the years. Just not a whole lot in common. However, I have one cousin who I have kept in touch with, Sue Sterling.

She was a couple of years older than me. When I was a kid she seemed a lot older and was always telling me stuff like listen to your Mom and Dad. She loved to play guitar and sing and everytime I went to see Mom and Dad we would get together and pick. She knew how to laugh! I think her laugh started at her toes.

I am sitting here at work trying to be productive but can not really quit thinking of her as she passed from this life this morning. She was a real fighter, she took on cancer a couple of times and beat it. But this time, I guess the ravages of the cancer treatments and the infection were too much.

I know my home is in heaven, but while I am here on earth, I find these types of events to be challenging.

I Thess 4:13-14 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.

New Baby

With great joy and anticipation I brought home a new baby on Saturday January 3, 2009.

She is a beautiful glossy black, Les Paul. I had a great weekend playing with her. She is presently home resting so we can play some more tonight.

I sure hope my sweetie does not get jelous of my new baby.

[For the guitarically challenged, a Les Paul is an electric guitar manufactured by Gibson, sweeeeeet!]
