Kim Wiser, my sister's mom in law, and long time family friend, had surgery on Friday. She had a tumor out a little bigger than a softball. She's doing well, and the doctors are almost positive that it's not malignant. I want to go see her today (SUNDAY) and may do that if she's up to it when I call. I saw her friday, and she didn't look so hot. Of course she was all doped up... so who would. Kim needs prayers.

That is doing well...the sad news...

a member at our church who's been with us a year, chris, has a son who is six. He is the greatest kid ever! His name is Patrick. He's cute, happy, says the funniest things, and is sooo sweet. Patrick had finished his school year here and spent this much of the summer with us because his mom was put in jail fo D.U.I. We were so happy to have him. Chris was exstatic (sp?). My whole church and anyone who was around him couldn't help but get attached. Chris is a great dad and he loved having Patrick...

Unfortunately Chris didn't have full custody, only temporary, and although Patrick's mother, Valerie, let him finish out the school year and part of the summer she's decided it's time to have him back. She came to get him today. I'm upset, and have had to pray alot about this. I need you to pray also. For Chris, who is heart-broken, and or all of us, but mostly for the safety of Patrick. His mom has been known to drive Patrick around while under the influence, and I'm worried that she won't really bring him back. I pray and hope, and try to believe the best will happen.

I guess I should stop being so stinkin pessimistic, but I miss the kid... pretty badly. I had the hardest time not crying while he sat with me at church. Luckily I had already cried enough to last me that long.

Thank you all for praying for Kim, Chris, Patrick, and all of us at church who love them. We all need prayers sometime. (If you can't tell I'm a little emotional, so I think I'll go til I'm a little less emotional)

BTW... and the hits keep on coming

Someone had told me that Patrick was going to be coming back everyschool year, and leaving during the summer. So I had hope, stupid me. I more recently found out that she didn't say that, Chris was just hoping it would work out that way. They are still tlking about it, but I have my doubts about Valerie. Maybe I'm not being christian here with the snide comments. I'll pray about it and contemplate removing them. I may still be emotional...

Man, guys... camp was amazing. Totaly spiritually uplifting. Not the same, but still awesome! I was bummed at the beginning of camp because I got put in a younger cabin, but I realized that it was good for me to be able to be an example to those girls. Besides I got to share a cabin with my brother-in-law's sister, and with a friend from the church in monticello, and some friends from the year before.

I loved being there with everybody, I met alot of new people and got to know alot of people who had been going there before, but that I just hadn't talked to. I look forward to getting to know them more over email, aim, pleonast, and when I visit FC...

speaking of FC, I was planning on just going to the community college here, but since being to camp... and hearing ALL about FC a million times a day I've decided to look into it one more time and see if there wasn't something I missed. So I will TRY to go... if I can... no promises.

Yes, I'm leaving for the FC Alabama Camp tomorrow and not coming back until Saturday (Lord willing). I know I'm going to have a good time there, and hopefully will be able to come back next year as a counsellor. I would like to counsel the younger chillins.

Anyway, I can't wait to see my friends, and I know they won't be mad that I'm so bad at staying in touch, since apparently so are they (accept for Andrea, who has called me several times in the past few weeks).

Unfortunatly, I won't be going to FC, because it's incredibly expensive (not a myth I looked it up myself). I will, Lord Willing, be going to the community college I've been attending. I can get a grant that will pay for everyhting except room and board which I don't need, b/c it's not two minutes down the road on a bike.

It only has one 4 yr program, and it's the one I need. Elementry education, then I don't know where I'm going to go, b/c I need a specialized degree in special education.
