For some clarification

Wow... I had no idea everyone would be so excited for us that we got free Chick-Fil-A... don't get me wrong, I was totally pumped about it. Anyway, they had a 30 year or 40 year (can't remember which) celebration last Saturday. 30 people's names were drawn to win a year's worth of free combos. We didn't actually go, but Daryl's mom and Grandma go all the time... and they entered each of our names. So later that day we got a call saying Daryl's name was drawn. They told us they were going to enter our names, but I completely forgotten about it. I take the girls there every Friday to eat there, so that was a nice savings.. for the next year, my food is free. How great is that?

Well, I don't know what had gotten into Natalie the last few nights. For about 2 nights in a row, she would wake up and cry in the middle of the night. The night before last was the worst... she woke up after a couple of hours and screamed off and on for at least 2 hours. After Daryl went to check on her, he said she hadn't even been shedding tears... and when he walked in she said, "hey" like nothing was even wrong. Then she waved goodbye to him as he left. What in the world? So, I think she's just testing her bounderies... why does she do it in the middle of the night... I have no idea. She cried before her nap for about 5 or 10 minutes yesterday. Then last night she went to bed without a peep and slept all night. What a difference! I sincerely hope her screaming episodes are over for now. I guess she's officially two.

We are headed to the grocery store today. Grocery shopping is always a little exhausting to me. I guess because it's a lot of hauling the girls in and out of the car. We don't get everything all at one place, so I have to get them out several times. A lot of times I end up carrying Lydia in the sling... which is getting hard to do considering her size.

Has anybody ever heard that if you measure your child at the age of two and double it, that is supposedly the height they'll be as an adult. Daryl's mom did that... she was off by 2 inches with both him and his sister. His grandma did it with all 4 of her kids and it worked perfectly. If this holds true for Natalie, she will be 5'11'! I hope she's not quite that tall, but she will most definately be taller than her 5'3" mommy. That's strange to me to have a daughter that could possibly tower over me. Has anyone else heard of this?

I've heard of that- I don't think my parents did it with me, but I know my sister did with her kids. From what I've read, its generally accurate, but obviously not always.

I'm sure its not amusing to you that your child is screaming during the night, but I have to say that I was amused at her saying "hey" when Daryl came in...

I have heard of this too. I don't know how accurate it is but somebody told me with boys you have to do it at three years old. It probably is just one of those wives tales.

Yes, I have heard of this. My friend's mom did this for her and her brother and it worked out. Another friend's pediatrician indicated how tall her son would be based on his growth pattern. It is exactly double what his 2 year check-up was at. So, we will have to wait and see.

Our dr told us at 18 months is when you can come up with their adult size. The older, Eden, should be around 5'6" and Abigail should be 5'4". WE will see. Congrats on the Chick-fil-A! Yummy

First off that is so totally cool about Chickfila!
    Congrats to you on that!!
And I think shopping should be less difficult than it is with children... the fighting really gets me.
And I have heard of that. Unfortunately Timothy will be like 5'5"... So I guess he and Natalie will never work out! :o)

So...their height at exactly 2 years of age? I wonder...

I seem to remember Rosie going through a crying at night phase. It must have been brief because it's just a vague memory. I hope it's brief for Natalie, too!

i've heard of the height thing too. my mom did that with all of us, and it was pretty much right on. maybe a little off, but not by much.
