OK. I FIGURED IF I PUT THESE 10 STEPS UP, THEN EVERYTIME I CHECK ON MY PLEO, I WILL SEE THIS AND IT WILL REMIND ME OF WHAT STILL NEEDS TO BE DONE. YES, I ADMIT, I'M OCD. I AM CURRENTLY CLEANING OUT A DRAWER A DAY AND MAKING SOME PROGRESS. ANY TIPS, COMMENTS OR SUGGESTIONS, FEEL FREE TO POST =)
1. Lack of clutter is very good because everything has a place. The band-aids are in the kitchen cabinet left of the sink. All videos/DVD's are in the cabinet near the VCR/DVD player. Today's mail is sorted into individual family member's baskets or folders.
2. Refrigerator, freezer and pantry are stocked and organized. There's a planned menu for this week. A grocery list in progress is posted near the fridge.
3. Clean laundry is put away. Dirty laundry is in hampers or is being laundered.
4. Family calendar is updated daily and color-coded by person.
5. Chore list is clearly posted. Everyone does his or her share as a member of the family.
6. There is a key rack, shoe rack and pegs for jackets and backpacks near the door.
7. Sports equipment/Recreational equipment is separated into containers by category and can be put away quickly.
8. There is a portable file box into which bills and paperwork are organized.
9. Home appears adequately clean. Family has a daily system to pick up clutter and a weekly system for cleaning the house.
10. Family members have time for one another because their home is organized.
↓ I FOUND THIS ON A WEBSITE, RESTRUCTURED IT TO FIT OUR HOME, AND FOUND THIS VERY USEFUL! SO....I'M HERE TO SHARE! =) ↓
A GOOD MORNING ROUTINE...1. Rise and Shine
2. Make your bed as soon as you get out of it (unless your HUBBY is still there).
3. Go into the bathroom.
Shower and clean the bathroom while you are there.
4. Fix your hair and face so you don't have to worry with this later and you're ready to leave if necessary.
5. Swish the toilet and leave the room never to return till later. It is clean and you can forget about it for now.
6. Leave your bedroom with a load of laundry in hand and go straight to the washer.
KITCHEN....
1. Empty the dishwasher.
2. Make coffee or orange juice/tea and start breakfast.
3. Feed the critters.
4. Feed the family (including yourself).
THINK ABOUT YOUR DAY...1. Check your calendar.
2. Make your list of what you are going to do today (PODA or To Do List)
3. Thaw something for dinner.
4. Checkbook (bring down your balance).
5. Reboot the laundry (put in dryer).
6. Hit the hotspots. Hotspots are these little areas that have clutter. Is your area of clutter too big? Then try a 4ft. by 4ft. space....baby steps =)
NOW THINK ABOUT YOURSELF SO YOU'RE IN BETTER SHAPE FOR OTHERS...
1. Take your vitamins and medications.
2. Sit down.
3. Eat breakfast (if you haven't already).
4. Morning Meditation: God. Read a chapter in your Bible. If you follow the "read the Bible in a year" routine and haven't kept up with it, then why not start on today's reading? You can always go back and "catch up" later when there is time =) This is a reward all in it's own!
5. Now reward yourself with some computer time. Check your e-mail.

I am married to Mr. Organized. When he was sent to his room as a child for misconduct, he got in even more trouble when his parents checked on him and found he was "organizing his sock drawer." He was NOT supposed to be having fun! -
thanks melissa!!! I'm happy too.... :) I'm leaving this saturday to drive to missouri and spend a week up there!!!! YEA!!!! -
It's good to have housekeeping goals. I try to keep the house as clean as possible however when you homeschool somebody is always home. I figure it'll be a clean as I want it when my kids are raised. We can't eat off the floor but who'd want to to that anyway! LOL -
