It's been a while...

So the end of a school year has come and gone. Final Exams, Graduation, camp, 4th of July and the first month of summer has already happened.

Summer bears a new set of challenges for me than the school year does. I get to deal with ADULTS instead of children! Professional developments, coaching school and trainings. I've been to Baltimore for a week for a "teacher training" workshop, I've had weight room duty and soccer camp responsibilities, I've been to two days of professional development on the state's new TEKS for Social Studies (if you don't know what that means, don't worry about it :-) ), next week I'm off to coaching school in Austin for four days and at the beginning of August I am headed to San Antonio for four days for a workshop on our new curriculum that the school decided to send department chairs to.

It's been busy.

Today is the beginning of a four day stretch in which I have no responsibilities. So what am I doing? Cleaning the house, exercising and lesson planning. :-) I'm trying really hard to get all my lesson plans done thoroughly before school starts so I can be a more effective teacher and coach.

Not too much else is going on. We just got back from a 4th of July family gathering in Alabama. I had such a wonderful time seeing my family, singing, eating, swimming and just being together.

What has everybody else been up to?

What are your summer time goals?

Love,
Me

I've been moving to Texas. Still in the process of that, actually. :)

I'm staying with the Craigs in Roanoke right now, but next Monday I'm moving into my apartment in Fort Worth. I start school at TCU in August.
