UPDATE ON MY HOSPITAL STAY AND PROGRESS
The hospital is 99 percent sure it is diverticulitis with an infection. The doctor said that they won’t be a 100 percent sure until they do a colonoscopy which will not be performed until 4 or 6 weeks later after inflammation goes down. I got to come home from the hospital Sunday late afternoon after being on a liquid diet, antibiotics, and then finally real food. It was so wonderful to eat a meal. I had turkey with mash potatoes, peas, and angel food cake for dessert. Nancy from church happen to be at the hospital visiting me so she brought me home and went and got my new meds. Nancy is a blessing. I know Gary really appreciated all of Nancy’s help because he has been running back and forth to the hospital and was exhausted, even though the new hospital just down the road. One thing that Gary liked while visiting me was every day he was offered a complimentary dinner. The hospital also offers any other meals for just $5.00 which really relieved my mind knowing Gary was eating plus we could have our meals together still. Well mine was liquid YUCK! The food is really good! The hospital offers up hamburger and fries, deli sandwiches, rib eye steak, tortellini with white cream sauce. Wish I could of had those items. Anyway everything was going well upon arriving home until later that evening. It started again really bad abdominal pains accompany with nausea. The nausea medicine is not working at all. My stomach was playing rumble in the jungle with explosions going on. I already had an appointment to see the gastro doctor this Friday. Since I was in so much pain again we called and they moved my appointment up to today. I am hoping that he can relieve my pain and nausea and that I don’t have to go back into the hospital. That’s all I know for now and thanks so very much for all your prayers keep them coming.

Well I am still in a lot of pain and nauseated. The doctor took me off one of my antibotics he thinks this is what is making me sick to my stomach. I have to say I agree because this med taste like metal BIG YUCK! He also put me on protonix because he thinks the bulk of my pain is gas in my stomach which is a complications of the diverticulitis. He also thought using a heating pad to help ease the pain would help. If I don't feel better in 72 hours then I need to come in and see him again. Boy this is a ruff haul. He also schedule me for colonscopy in three weeks which will confirm diverticulitis. The doctor is not absolutely sure if I have this because I should of gotten better.
All I can say is I never knew gas could cause so much pain enough to hospitalize you. We will see what happens with the colonscopy and I hope I start feeling better soon. What ever it is I hope it never happens again or I may give up eating and if you take a good look at my pic of me on the blog you would think I would never say that!
Thanks again for all your prayers.
