Connie Ashley...
Hey FC alumni, FC friends, and all PLEO USERS--
Many people know Connie Ashley. It was announced Sunday evening that she has Alzheimer's Disease. Connie is an absolutely wonderful person who, if you know her, you love her. She has had singings at her house for FC students for years. Her time has been spent being a servant to others. Now she is a little down as she struggles with her fading memory, unable to do as much as she likes. She is the most giving, unselfish person I know and I would like to help brighten her day. I am putting together a basket for her of notes and cards of memories of how Connie has touched our lives--her singings, her thoughtful gifts, her taking time to play with your kids, her visiting you in the hospital, etc. If you have children, ask them to write a note, too, of what sweet things they think about Connie, or simply draw her a picture. Also, if you have pictures of you and/or your children, please send those as well. I have created an email address for pictures and emails to be delivered for this project: makeconniehappy@yahoo.com. This will mean so much to her to see that all of her thoughtful acts of kindness have not gone unappreciated. Please pass this on to others that know her.

I'll work on something right away! I LOVE THAT WOMAN and I LOVED going to her singings! -
Oh! I'm SO sorry to hear this. I love Connie!!!! I love the memory basket idea, too. I'll write you an e-mail. -
Sure - I can do that. -
What a great idea :) I know it will take some work on your part! Thanks! We'll see what we can get to you. Cute email address. -
Thanks for mentioning this. It's a great idea! I'll be sure to spread the word. -
That's really great of you to organize this. Thanks for letting us know about Connie. She picked me up from the airport and I stayed with her my first time coming to the US for FC... -
of course! -
Thats a really good idea, Becci. I'm really sad to hear about that. -
Could you private message me or email me your physical address to send notes or drawings my kids might do? -
I posted on my blog a pointer to here. Old, my FOOT! Just kidding. I am old, but I take no offense at such things... -
Yes, I got it. Thanks... -
Hello Becci... What can I do for Connie? I'm not in Tampa yet but will be soon. -
I don't think that the pet cemetary holds any Mule Day festivities that I am aware of, but they should! -
I'm not coming back to Tampa. Didn't you hear the news? I'm moving to Singapore. Thanks for everything. -
Miss Connie? For real? That's so sad. I'll be praying.

That's so sad! She is so sweet!! :( Once we get some updated family photos, I'll send some. -
As for weight loss/healthy stuff: I've just been buying more organic things and taking in less processed foods. I am on Jillian Michaels site (Biggest Loser trainer). I really like her and she really motivates me. Her site gives me a workout (circuit training) daily, 4 days a week. One day I do cardio and 2 days I rest, so it's great! Food-wise, I am just watching calories. The deficit makes the weight come off. That's it! :) -
Here is a little excerpt of what Jillian says about changing the diet for breastfeeding (sorry it's so long!): As for diet, here’s the rub: Women's bodies are typically very efficient at producing breast milk, so you don't need to eat for two people! As a rough guide, increase your calorie intake by about 500 over what you needed before you became pregnant, and do not lose more than one pound per week. You can stick to the same foods that are ideal for your oxidizer level, but try your best to avoid any unhealthy processed foods. I normally allow you guys to work that stuff into your calorie allowance in extreme moderation, but I strongly suggest you avoid processed foods while lactating.
