Easter...
I need to start some Easter traditions with my kids, and I was wondering what everyone else's traditions were. What's your favorite Easter tradition? What do your kids love, and what did you love most about Easter when you were a kid?

Coloring eggs is also a must. If you put white crayon on the egg before you dip it then the design appears after...and it's a good way to teach how mixing different colors creates a new color. -
Just a warning: The presence of pets can ruin the "dropping" idea as they tend to eat the trail before the child wakes up :) -
all I can remember is doing easter egg hunts a few times when I was 5 or 6 yrs old -
My favorite easter thing is making easter eggs look like wood... you use onion peels... i'll show you some time, very cool. -
Dying eggs is a must! Sarah and I used to do it other times of the year as well. Also, do egg hunts. Kids love to look for the eggs and this was also a year round activity for us-make sure you use the plastic ones, not the ones you dyed. -
Sorry about Saturday...I meant to tell you at church. Marcus works 1pm to 10 and so we couldn't...we really wanted to but thanks! -
Ugh...its 8:00 now, I forgot about the book party. Okay..so I'm not into dyeing eggs. I think the mess or potential disaster stresses me out, but I'm really into Easter baskets. I always make big Easter baskets and put them in a different place. They've been talking about the easter bunny alot lately and where their baskets were last year, so I think I'm going to start hiding the baskets to make it more of a game. -
Hmm... haven't done anything with my girls, either! :) -
We always dye eggs for easter! if you draw on them with a white crayon and then put them in the dye the pattern from the crayon comes out and it's bE-autiful. My hobbies include playing tennis & playing the flute! yay:) Oh and I also really like babysitting! ;) -
We always dyed eggs of course and did the egg hunt, but what I found out made an impression on Siobhan this year was the bunny cake I always made. Now that she has the kids and now that Kai is old enough to remember, this year she wanted to do the bunny cake. It is really old school. Two round cakes, one is the 'face' and the other you cut the sides to be the ears which lleaves the middle to make a bow. Then you can frost and decorate however you want. She had fun putting white coconut all over for the fur, and pink marshmellows for the inside of the ears, and jelly beans for the eyes and mouth and licorice or fruit roll ups for the whispers, and she made the bow really cure with little multicolored candies for a polka dot effect. Too much fun and glad to see a 'tradition' is being carried on! I know it's a late post but wanted to add it anyway! -
Every Easter Sunday morning (up until I got married and moved out) my mom made baskets with gifts and goodies and would hide them for us to go find Sunday morning. We also got muffins or something tasty for breakfast. After church we'd have most the congregation over for the easter egg hunt. -
Honestly, I babysit cause I love it. But yeah, that's really cool about the flute...wow, I always aspired to play the drums...so you played in the band? -
What is your email. I found something else on Broadway shows. -
I sent 2 emails. Not sure the last one went through though. -
Thanks again for my birthday dinner. -
I think I've decided on painting John 14:6 at the top, doing the Christian fish symbol in the middle, and painting We Believe along the bottom. I'm still open to suggestions if you have any...
