Surreal

As I begin my final semester of college, I think about all the wonderful memories I've made here in Nac and all the wonderful people I've met & am glad to call my friends :)

I have been blessed beyond my wildest dreams. I can't imagine my life any other way.

Thank you to everyone who has been there for me -- through the good, bad, and ugly. Y'all mean a lot to me!

It's weird knowing that soon I'll have to be a real grown-up. I'm still not used to the idea yet. Prolly won't ever be!

I wish the best for everyone this semester..and year!
  • larie
What does being a "real" grown up mean? Is that what I'm supposed to be? Ha! We will miss you lots!!

Hmm

Ya know..the things you plan usually don't end up like you planned.

Why is that?
  • bumba
Good question. I'd like to think that things end up better than we could have planned. A wise man (Harold Hancock) once said that if we want to do what God wants us to do and be lead by His providence, then we must do the right thing as much as we can and how could we not end up where He wants us?

They never end up as planned do they? Not always better or worse, just different. How are you?

If you figure out the answer let me know!

More than Conquerors

We've been made more than conquerors, over-comers in this life. We've been made victorious through the blood of Jesus Christ.

Just to update everyone, my dad ended up not getting that job. His job search is still ongoing. He hasn't had much luck, not unlike many job-seekers around the country. Please continue to pray for him, and for all those trying to find jobs. It's tough out there.

In other news, it's almost time for Thanksgiving!! One of my favoritest holidays :) I get to spend it with some new people this year! I'm really looking forward to all the deliciousness and family time.

It gives us all another reason to thank God for all of our blessings. No matter what happens, He's always there.

"...And this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith." 1 John 5:4 :)

I love Thanksgiving, too! I get to come home!! :D

Street sweeper baby

I have commenced my last FALL semester ever. It's definitely bittersweet. I'm so ready to be done with school (going on 5 years), but I know after I get my Master's I'll never be in school again. I'm going to miss all of my wonderful friends that I've made here in Nac. There are way too many to link. I'm not going to get all mushy and junk..nobody wants that.

In other news, many of you know that my dad was 'forced into retirement' in April. Our family's financial future has been a little sketchy for a few months, but the Lord provides for His children. About a month ago, he had an interview with a chemical company (same type he used to work for) in Marshall (40+ min from our house). He had a second interview with the owners of the company, and he's very sure he's going to get the job.
Even when you think things aren't going well or have no hope for getting better--God is there to help. If we lay our burdens and worries on Him, He will take care of them. I'm not saying He will always give us what we want. His answer may be - "My grace is sufficient for you: for my strength is made perfect in weakness" (2 Corinthians 12:9). Either way, He knows what's best; and "the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much" (James 5:16).

I hope everyone has a blessed weekend and that you all take time to pray on your own. God's the very best listener.

i know it's not their intent, but they promote so much division on that site by saying "this is the only way." i mean, some things are outside Christ, but premillenialism? modern day tongue speaking? their section on sola scripture is full of contrived logic. one time i sent the author of an article on that site an email about a certain doctrinal issue. i politely asked questions and offered a different perspective, but never got a reply. i was disappointed, because i thought their intent was to get things right... apparently it's just to get things they way they think is right. :\
