from the Quixotic folks at
FON:
"Welcome to Fonbucks, where FON + Starbucks = cash for you. If you live above or next to a Starbucks (or any cafe/coffee shop for that matter!), you are eligible for a free wireless router that will earn you cash from the minute you plug it in. This also means if you are a cafe, coffee shop, restaurant or other public venue you are eligible too! By installing your FON router, you let others share your broadband for a daily fee. A fee that goes straight into your pocket. A savvy patron of your Starbucks need only pay $2 a day for your WiFi. They'd have to be a grande drip to pay the $10 Starbucks charges. Each customer who chooses you puts $1 into your latte fund. Cha-ching."
Anyone live within router distance of a Starbucks?

"As Tocqueville noted over 170 years ago, America has flourished not because of the geniuses in Washington but due to its Constitution, fertile land mass, egalitarianism, entrepreneurship, unique spiritual vitality and attachment to local community and family. This combination of factors has always made us different from other countries, and, in this deeply cynical and secular age, now more so than ever before"
- Joel Kotkin, Senior Fellow at the New America Foundation from the Wall Street Journal Editorial Page - 10/17/06.
I read this quote somewhere today and liked it a lot. I'll have to check out the "New America Foundation" and see what it's all about.
Hope everyone is having a great day!

I started a new job with my company about a month ago. I am now an Account Installation Manager. I was assigned to one of our National Accounts teams. I will be working as a Project Manager to coordinate the implemenation of new and renewal groups. I'm very excited!
Dan just accepted a new job with a growing audio-visual company. He'll start in about three weeks. He'll be playing with expensive toys and doing techy geeky kinds of stuff. I'm married to the AV guy! :-) Dan's totally psyched!
Our house is starting to look like the charming little bungalow it truly is. We removed the ugly chain-link fence, Dan painted the porch a lovely buttery shade of yellow, and I am working on the landscaping. The first plantings have been in the ground for about a month and are growing rapidly. The second wave is purchased and ready to be installed this weeked. Seriously, it looks like a different house altogether. I love to examine my little garden for the tiniest promises of new buds. My butterfly bush is primed for explosion!
Our cats have fleas. We do not know from whence they came, but they are quite a plague. I can no longer count the number of bites that cover my arms and legs. My feet are in particularly bad shape. Dan's fighting back with Advantage and a flea bomb tomorrow. Lessons Learned: fight back at the FIRST SIGN of a problem rather than ignoring it for two weeks!!!
My sister Keri is having a baby girl. She's due in Sept/Oct. Her name is Madison LeeAnn. Prayers for mother, baby, and family are requested!
My sister-in-law Emily is staying with us for another month, although she is currently in Ft Wayne visiting the fam. She's moving to Louisville, and I'm trying to get her to move in close to us! (hint, hint)
My sister Arin is transferring from Georgetown College to UofL, so she's moving back to Louisville. She'll be moving into an apt just around the corner and down the street from us. I hope she'll starting coming to DH with us!
I think my elevator speech has exceeded the time limit, so that's all for now!
*adds you to my list*
I have to work this Friday and Marshall won't be in town. Guess we'll have to catch you all next time!
