Randomness

So I'm coming home this weekend...again. Friday me and Crystal (don't know how to do the link thing) are goin' to six flags, then saturday Team We Rock You is sweeping the tournament, and sunday....nothing unusual planned for Sunday, 'cept mowing the cemetery maybe.

Got blood results bad...doc says everything looks good and I feel a ton better. Everything's been looking up lately.

Downloaded "Wreck of the Old 97" by Hank III. His take on the old classic is amazing...go listen!

Probably failed my chem test today...we covered five chapters in one week. Speaks for itself.

Turned on the tube today and Das Boot was on....watched it awhile...fell asleep, woke up....it was still on. Left the house for a while, came back...it was still on...finished it. That movie must be like five hours long. U-571 ripped that movie off so much.

Need new tennis shoes. I wear boots EVERYWHERE. I'm lookin' at some lowtop brown plaid converse all-stars. I hate shopping.

^There was a random question on this survey that asks if you like the Pixies....kinda wierd. I guess that's how they figure the % "Indie-ness." Pffff.

Sunny Side of the Street

I feel a lot better today after getting some new medicine called protonix yesterday. I also feel better now that I've actually eaten something and gotten some sleep! I spent the day resting, reading my new book, and downloading some new music. On the playlist...

Gotta Getaway - Stiff Little Fingers
Sunny Side of the Street - The Pogues
Brown Eyed Girl - Van Morrison
Galway Girl - Steve Earle
Lone Star Blues - Delbert McClinton
River Euphrates - The Pixies
Fall On My Knees - Old Crow Medicine Show
Country Road - John Denver
Cupid's Victim - Tiger Army
Walk of Life - Dire Straits
Choices - George Jones
Wasn't Born to Follow - The Byrds
Seven Nights In Ireland - Reckless Kelly
Don't Think Twice - Johnny Cash
See You Later I'm Gone - Marshall Tucker
In My Own Mind - Lyle Lovett
She Never Spoke Spanish to Me - Joe Ely
Reinventing Axl Rose - Against Me!

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."
Romans 8:28

The Old 97s are GREAT! Don't download any more of their stuff because we've got it all and will happily burn some for you. Lead singer Rhett Miller has two solo albums that are pretty good too...which we will also burn for you.

title

So last night at Rachel and John's house was pretty fun. Apparently I need to carry my ping-pong paddle in my truck just in case the occasion arises when I need to put Craig in his place. You can never put faith in the quality of your host's paddles.

I got sick again this morning so I'm going to the doctor at four. I've been miserable for the past week or so, so hopefully he can do something for me. Just had super nachos from TC...it's probably the second meal I've had in two days.

Other news....I have a chem exam tomorrow and I'm starting a new book. "The Long Home" by William Gay (Half-price books rocks!)
  • kreg
Hey man, you weren't the only one with a crappy paddle.
    by kreg at 07/23/07 2:47PM
  • littlekeeb
no fun that you still feel bad. and really you have to beat craig so he will stop bragging!
    by littlekeeb at 07/23/07 2:50PM
  • sodapop
O.k., enough about the paddles dude. The paddles are fine- you're just not as good as Craigery that's all. Hmm, let's keep in mind that he was using the same type of paddle and didn't seem to have any problem SPANKING you! I will admit, I do like the paddles at your parents house better, but my game is the same no matter which paddles I'm using (I'm pretty mediocre either way). So, you and sparky can just stop drinking the Hateorade and stop blaming my paddles on your inferior ping pong skills!

^^man, sorry about the long post----- n00b
    by sodapop at 07/23/07 4:16PM
  • sparky
But he is left-handed so my theory is those soft paddles aid the way a left-handed person hits. My paddle has been located in my closet and will be with me next time!
    by sparky at 07/23/07 4:24PM
  • keebs
Craig is good at most things he does...which is why we don't play too many games against each other.

dude, stop eatting so poorly and you might feel a tad better. seriously, ranch style beans and fast food nachos are not the way to avoid digestive discomfort! still, i'm sorry. try more bland food for a few days.

purple pill

So my "acid reflux", so called, has reared it's ugly head again. For the past week or so I've had hardly an appetite and had nausea some mornings (not pregnant). Anyways, this happened at almost the exact same time last year (about August). The weird thing is...I don't get heart burn and all that...I just eat hardly anything for a week because I don't get hungry and then it ends in a finale of me vomiting before I usually do something about it. Fortunately, I had some left-over Nexium that I never finished off. I took one this morning after dispatching the ginger bread I had for breakfast and now I'm right as rain.

Why I have acid reflux at my age? I'm special.
  • kreg
Sounds delightful! I'm sorry to hear that, man . . . and sorry about the text messages.

God gives comfort

"Hannah had a sorrowful spirit and poured out her soul unto the Lord......and God answered her petition."

1 Samuel 1:15-17
  • keebs
I was thinking about the story of Hannah this morning actually and how she moved her lips when she prayed but didn't make any sounds - she had amazing faith.
