Thank you and back at 'cha!
I reminded Casey Dog that he forgot to give me a card today and all he did was look at me with sad eyes! Of course, I forgave him!
    Hugs.

WHILE AWAY IN MOBILE ALABAMA...

Good evening, all! Hope you're well. And I know some of you have had some struggles, and I'm so sorry. Praying for a speedy recovery for you.

I am going to ask you a question I never dreamed I'd ever be asking. Have any of you ever seen a toilet with the handle on the right side of the tank?? That is where the handle is on the toilet in the bathroom in my hotel room. I keep trying to flush on the left side. That's not working because there is no handle there! Too funny I think!

And such a blessing that the three missing Cleveland girls/women were found. That is just something else. I am happy for their families.

The trip on my way here to Mobile went well. I finished up at the school in Ootlewah GA and then drove to Moody AL and stopped at the Perz house for a bit. Then I headed on down to Wetumpka AL and spent the weekend with the Williamson family. Betty and I went to a few antique stores. I bought another chair to add to my odds and ends collection of chairs. They're so fun. When the brethren in Warner Robins were packing my belongings, one of the guys called me a chair hoarder!!

It was just about a 2 and a half hour trip here from Montgomery so that wasn't too bad of a drive - not long like it was when I drove down from Kentucky in December of last year. And it was nice to see the brethren here again. And Lord willing, I'll be able to go to Bible study tomorrow night.

It was really weird my first night in the hotel here. It was soooo quiet, like there was no one else here. There were but just quiet ones. But the next night had more people and not so quiet, not too loud, but not so quiet - HA!!

I plan to head back to the Perz household Friday evening after the Buy ends. Look foward to seeing them. And Saturday morning, I will head home! I plan to stop in Decatur AL and have lunch with John and Janice Sugg. Look forward to meeing them!

Take care and God bless you all!

I've encountered the toilets with the handle on the wrong side but I bet left handed people would tell you they are on the right side. :-)

My toilets have a knob on top that you pull straight up. Not intuitive. If I don't remember to tell people in advance how to flush, they're in there for quite a while, until I notice their absence and surmise the dilemma. The kids call them "magic toilets" -- ha!

A former plumber friend of mine told me it's because the toilet's in a handicapped accessible room.

IT WAS A DARK AND STORMY NIGHT...

Lots of rain, wind, lightning and thunder!

That was the last 60 to 70 miles of my driving home last night from St Louis MO - whew. I was so glad to pull into my driveway and walk through my front door.

It amazed me to see how fast some folks were driving in those conditions. There was a lot of water. It really helped me when there was a car in front of me whose lights I could follow - helped to see.

Marshmellow sat on the table beside my computer desk watching out the window. But when lightning would flash or thunder clap, she would run off!!

I had to go to St Louis for a training class yesterday for the virtual buys. This afternoon I head south for a Buyback and then Thursday across Alabama towards Mobile AL for a Buyback there.

Home on the 11th of May - already looking forward to it! I miss my felines so when I'm gone. This time they have 2 sitters, and I have a schedule - isn't that crazy. But it sure is nice to have friends who are fellow animal lovers and are willing to help out.

Hope you all have a great Lord's day today and a great week!

Your fortunate to have someone who wants to sit with them and take care of them. Our kids don't have a vacation because they won't put them in a kennel and they don't have anyone who will take care of them.

Accross Alabama!! If you are going through Decatur, Alabama (right off I-65), there is a wonderful Barbeque restaurant called Big Bob Gibson's. If you do plan to stop and want company for lunch, my wife and I would love to eat with you!

It was kind of you to stop by and comment. I did not introduce the cats properly. Ace is a territorial male and I knew he would not have approved another cat, but he seems to manage most of the time. They are fighting less, but I still find that Ace is spending part of the days in my room. Now the book mentioned a very long timely method of introducing the two cats properly, but I imagine that my house is not set up to do that. Meanwhile, my black cat Onyx did cuddle with Meeko a bit yesterday and Meeko seems to have laid claim to a window sill in which Ace won't bother Meeko. I have been thinking about getting the feelaway plug in and maybe a separate food/water dish in case they don't feel like sharing.
While my cats don't have front claws, the clumps of cat hair still show proof they can still fight sufficiently to need broken up by the squirt water bottle. That was one thing I liked about Meeko, he was partial declawed like my others. Perseverance might just be the ticket though, they haven't known each other but a few weeks.
Please accept my friend request. And if you have tips on how to properly intro two cats without spending a month or two doing it, I'd be interested to know. Thank you. God bless.

The odd thing is: it made the aggression between Meeko (new Siamese) and Ace (Grey domestic) go down. But Meeko and Onyx (Black domestic) who didn't have any problems are now fighting any chance Onyx can get past the door.
I am eventually going to introduce a cat scented sock to each cat, but for now, let's just see if they can handle being a room apart.

A FELINE STORY

With the lovely sun shining through the front door, I noticed little paw prints on the wood laminate in the livingroom while walking into the kitchen...and I know the feline from whom they came - my dear Annabelle. She sometimes hops into the bathtub after I've showered to lick the water. So upon her return to the livingroom, she left her paw prints on the floor as proof. I actually think it's funny. I have friends whose dog likes to do that. Anybody else's pets do that?
  • misssonja
That's funny. Viper Kitty steals ponytail holders from my bathroom drawer (the bathroom with no countertop) -- I find them all over the house. She's so little that she fits in odd places -- like on the shoeboxes stacked on the closet shelf. I've seen her perch in the corner of the bathtub rim, too.

Her doctor said it actually happens more than you think. Popcycles have tasted really good today to her.

It must be wonderful to have cats. I trip on them and stumble over them. So I choose to play and pet other peoples cats because I do like them just can't live with them. It's fun to read your posts about yours.

Mine likes to sit on the backof the toilet while I shower so she has first dibs on the remnants. Her sisters prefer water from the sink. And I do dislike when they drink from the toilets as those silly paw prints get on the seat :-)

O we have done car seat cleaning too, yuk. Well my couch is probably cleaner now than has been in a few years. I've used Lysol cleaner on it and covered it. My kids seem to think downstairs is where to be when sick, which there is some sense to that with the bathroom and all.
Hey you know cats, maybe you can help her with some cat trouble she mentioned in her post?

Our puppies like sitting on the couch and they do that without being asked to "jump" ......and Casey dog is so big he takes up the whole sofa. But it is OK....he is one of us and deserves some comfort. However, it is time to clean the sofa. I have considered one of those dog covers but haven't bought one yet.
Their latest pleasure is chewing on empty water bottles put in a cloth toy so that when they bite on them they squeak.....however, sometimes they manage to get the bottles out of the hole on the bottom and then I find pieces of the bottle all over the floor. Once they are squashed I try to throw them away so that doesn't happen. I wouldn't want them to get choked. So far, so good.
Have a good day and a great weekend.
BTW, Hugh has started preaching one Sunday out of the month again at Madison.....yes, they are still hanging on, even though they only have about 15 attend on Sundays and 6 or so on Thursday evening.
I think this will be good for Hugh as he has been missing the preaching....

ANIMAL STORIES

Doug & Marsha Lynn spent Saturday night with me on their way home to Alabama. They'd just been in Indiana getting their new dog - Maghnum. He is such a sweetie! But I know 6 cats who do not feel the same way. Maghnum was just as quiet as can be in the house after they arrived until he spotted Marshmellow, and then his barker worked quite well! Marshmellow was quite wary of him! Annnabelle arched her back at him, and Smokey wouldn't come out from under the bed. Then there are the outdoor cats. Missy ran up the tree. Kirby hissed at him. And when Maghnum was on the porch, George arched his back at him just as Annabelle did. While Magnum was inside, George sat at the front door watching him. The canine and felines provided us with much entertainment and enjoyment!!

I found out Magnum's name has that "h" in it. I told Marsha it was hard to add it, but add it I will!

Monday morning - My poor Marshmellow. She was resting so comfortably on my back while we were still in bed when suddenly this huge clap of thunder occurred. She took off like a flash of lightning - poor baby. Sad but funny too!

    Poor Marshmallow.

Gravy heard something and was whining wanting to get in bed with us but I was too tired to get up and get him.

good for you for not paying GA. Those ole taxes......I decided to be smart this year??? And to Turbotax.....I got a little from Fed and payed a bunch to GA. Which took all of the Fed refund......then the friend who used to do our taxes reviewed it and said I shouldn't have paid any GA taxes as we don't have to pay since our money is considered pension and nor salary and it is below the level......soooooo, my smartness wasn't so smart . Now I am filing an amended State tax and maybe a Federal one......So much for being smart.....smarty pants would be more like it! Ha!
    ave a good weekend!

Stone soup is an old tale. My 90 year old grandmother told a different version called Rusty Nail Soup. It involved a confederate soldier on his journey home after the war. It was told to her by her grandparents who lived during the war.

Not sure how I found my way over here....clicked over thru several people, no doubt. This makes me chuckle as it sounds much like our house....three cats, two dogs. The youngest kitty came to us with an attitude. She likes to wait til my son falls asleep and then she will climb on his bed and bite his ears/nose. And when we let the pups in the house, she likes to walk past and swat at them. Of course, the pups jump 10 feet so it is quite funny ....
    by ekholl at 04/04/13 2:59PM
  • ginnyann
Update on the taxes.....the friend filed an amended GA refund costing me the same amount I was trying to get away from by using Turbotax.... But we will get most of what I paid back so he gets half and we get half! I guess I shouldn't complain but it is aggravating when you try to save money and it ENDS up costing money! At least I will know what to do this next year.
    Ha!
Hope you are feeling well and enjoying the "glimpses" of spring we are experiencing in the south. Just waiting for the warmer weather.
