I have spent the last two weeks in Wichita visiting my family. Everyone was there except Stacy. :( We missed you Stacy! I did have a great time with everyone else though. It was a little hard to come back home even after two whole weeks. While we were there poor little Joel and Jonah got another respiratory virus (not as serious as the RSV, thank goodness.) But I did end up taking Jonah to the doctor and now we have to give him breathing treatments whenever he gets wheezy. I guess a lot of kids that have RSV when they are tiny end up needing one. Luckily he doesn't seem to mind it, which is great because it takes like 7 minutes to do which probably feels like an eternity to a baby. Anyway, the good thing is that he seems to be feeling better now. I am hoping that since we are almost out of winter that this will be his last cold for a while.
We also got pictures taken with Joel, my nephew and Jonah. They are really cute. If I ever figure out how to post pictures on here I will do that.
Anyway, we got back home on Sunday and I have spent my first whole day back doing nothing worthwhile. Before we went to Wichita we stopped in KC to clean out one of our storage units....yes, we filled up two of them. We had to because Andy got evicted from the storage unit for spilling some shredded paper when he was moving into it. It is a long story but I seriously think the guy that owns the storage facility has some issues. Anyway, now all of those boxes are in our already jam-packed apartment. I have no motivation to find places for it.
We did stop and look at a house on our way back into town yesterday. It is this gorgeous old brick home. We were both drooling! We will have to see if it is a real possibility as it is in need of some serious TLC, but just the thought is exciting.
Well, that is all that is new here. I know my life is so exciting I can hardly stand it.

So, as some of you may have read on my sister's blog this has not been a good week in the Asher household. We just got moved to St Louis last weekend. We moved into an apartment for now because we were not sure we wanted to commit to a house until we knew the area a little better. I forgot how much I hate renting!!! We looked at the apartment back in September on a nice warm fall day and decided that due to its central location it would be the best choice for now. It was not the best choice. Since we have been here we realized it is about 30 degrees colder in the living room area than in the bedroom. We have had the pipes freeze twice and burst once. We had to get a broken dryer replaced, then realized when we started to do laundry that they had switched the water lines and ALL of our clothes were getting a hot water rinse instead of a cold water rinse. My favorite sweater was ruined. The shower head in the master bathroom fell off. Now we have a leak in the other bathroom. We are going to start looking for houses this afternoon.
As bad as all of that is though it was nothing compared to spending five days in the hospital with my baby boy. He got RSV last week. It is a respiratory virus that in adults just results in a common cold but in babies is much more severe. We took him into the ER last Tuesday night and they told us that was what he had. By Friday morning his breathing was really labored and we took him to get admitted to the hospital. They had to put him on oxygen to help him breath. It was horrible. He looked so sad and helpless. I stayed with him every night. I thought the hospital was bad when you are sick, but I actually think it is worse if you are not sick. I laid in bed for five days and I didn't even feel bad! I am not much for laying around. Anyway, he is doing much better now. He still has a cough and some pretty nasty congestion but he is himself again. Thank you to all of you out there who read about this on Stacy's blog and were praying for us! I have really seen the love of God in people this week. We just moved here and have only visited the nearby congregation a couple of times and we had SIX families visit us in the hospital and people brought food. I was amazed at how people welcomed us and immediatly treated us like family. What a blessing to be a part of God's family!

Well, we are starting the new year off with a bang! We actually got an offer on our house last week. We have countered and the inspection took place on Saturday. If all goes well we will finally be moving to St Louis at the end of this month. It seems so strange after all of this waiting for everything to happen in just one month!
Everything else is going really well. Jonah has been home for over two weeks now. Time is already flying!! He is such a good baby. Check out this link to see a slide show I put together w/ more pictures. http://3295385344.slide.com/p/4/close+up-1683686181 Yeah, you will just have to copy and past since I can't figure out how to add a link.
I hope everyone else had a great new year!

Jonah Andrew was born on December 14 at 3:35 pm... which also happens to be my sister Stacy's birthday! He was 8 lbs, 3 oz and 20" long with a head full of dark hair! We got to bring him home on Saturday and we are loving it.....most of the time. :) Thank you all for your prayers! Everything went very smoothly and he is healthy as can be!
Jonah is such a cutie patutie!!! I also had to squeeze his biggie thigh and cheek last night before I left:)
I love those pictures of Jonah! The middle one cracks me up! He's such a handsome little boy. Congrats on the house and I hope everything goes well with it!
Jonah is SO adorable! You two are so blessed :)
