Trip to DC was successful.

Passed my test.

Got to see the WW2 Memorial and the Korean Memorial. Very impressive.

Now to make up for being gone for a week, apparently work did not stop for me ... what in the world?

Stuck in the airport

So here i am stuck in Atlanta, as usual. it was either come through Atlanta or Chicago, i chose atlanta due to the flying time being shorter.

oh well.

At least i have inter-webs.

Thank you Tether for being so awesome. Since ATT is the evil and charges $20 a month to have the option. Nice to not worry about having to pay for internet in the airport.

Video is not super fast but hey. I am using the ATT network which is slow. Dont argue ... it is slow.


If i am lucky the flight wont get delayed again.

Power ... I missed you ...

So ... on Wed. night we had a really impressive lightning storm.

Fun to watch ... but,

i got home about 8:40 ish ... got through the gate to the neighborhood ... parked in the garage.

Got inside to find Miriam happily doing ebay stuff with the lights off in the office watching the storm.

Then, lights flickered off a few times then the power was gone.

Fast forward a few hours. Half the neighborhood no power.

Go to bed.

Morning. Still no power. Water heater still had hot water ... woot.

All in all got the power back on Thurs. night around 8ish.

amazing how much you miss having the power off ... xbox, ebay, netflixs.

Glad it is back on.

in good news since the house is so energy efficient even with out power on Thurs. the internal temp only got to 77 when it was 93 outside.

The bunny did not really notice the lack of power, other than not getting her daily brushing with the vacuum cleaner.

    Wow...I didn't realize you guys were without power for that long! Some friends of ours were without power for 13 hours....we fortunately didn't have any power outages.

    Poor bunny...I hope you made up for her daily brushing when the power came back on! Haha. ;)

    our house has a slight cave-effect becuase of all the trees nearby. it can get up to 85+ outside, and it's still a moderate 70 or so inside! Of course, we don't have insulation in th exterior walls, so if it gets much above that (plus humidity) outside, it can get pretty miserable inside, too. know anyone wanting to sell a small window air-conditioner?? (we have a/c, my husband is just trying to save money and only cool the bedroom and not the entire house...)
