I'm flying to Dallas Thursday evening to spend some time with my roommate from FC, then spending Friday & Saturday with over 400 of my soon to be fellow-retreaters, then off to Stephenville on Saturday evening to spend some "quiet" time with my family until Monday when I fly back home.
Fast weekend, but should be loads of fun!

May all of your Christmas movies have a happy ending!
May your hot chocolate be hot and creamy with melty marshmallows!
May all of your decorations hold special memories of happy times!
May your travels be safe - and may the blizzards wait until all of your loved ones are together!

Can you believe it? Ok, here's my "thankful" list for the year.
1. Good Health (it was a rough year!)
2. Five days off from work - and thankful I have a job!
3. Spending the day with my mom - I'm her favorite!
4. My family - I love them ALL equally! (cough, cough)
I hope you all have a wonderful holiday!
*Count your many blessings!!
"Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but the fire (in my head) is so delightful! And since I can't leave the house because of the dangerous roads and the fact that bible class was cancelled tonight, Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow!"

I got on today to post about a very special person in my life, and I see that my sister had the same idea! But I figured there's always room for more!
When my parents went out of town, I stayed at their house. When I was older, I'd drop by on them on a whim and stay for hours talking - and I never walked into the house without getting my Oreo! For years, I sat right next to her at church and if I didn't, she'd make me feel guilty about leaving her. She had a beautiful alto voice, she would tear up during certain hymns, and I can see her rushing down the aisle just before the closing prayer to take her spot by the door.
She loved the Lord - and everything she did in her life reflected that love. I'm glad he let her stay with us for as long as he did. I have to think that my Dad saw her when she got home and said "Hi Mom!"
This old world is a little bleeker without her in it - Estelle was one of the brightest lights in my life.
