It seems I only update this once every 6 months or so. Here goes...
Our sweet girl is 4 today! I don't feel like enough time has passed to have a 4 year old! It just seems like yesterday that
we brought her home! She'll start pre-school in the fall and is super excited about it.
She's been such a joy to us all!
Happy 4th birthday Kayden! We love you!

It's been a while since I updated... I'm one of the many that mostly updates on Facebook. This school year - we hit the ground running. It seems like it's taken us longer to get accustomed to our "school schedule" as opposed to our summer one. This year has been much better for Fred. Last year he had lots of stinkers all in one class which made for a miserable year for him. I guess it takes a crummy school year to appreciate the good ones :-) K will be 3 1/2 next month which blows my mind. I can't believe I almost have a 4 year old. Where does the time go? We're hoping to get her into preschool this fall - it would just be a couple days a week but I know she'd enjoy being with other kids her age. We're looking forward to the summer and hoping to get lots of projects done around the house. K and her cousin Ashlyn are both getting so big! They love playing together and love being together. They are so sweet to watch :-)

We've had a very busy summer this year! Fred is trying to lose 100 lbs by August 23rd and he is doing SO GREAT!!! I'm so proud of him! We have K in swim lessons each day for two weeks. She's been taking 3 hour naps when she gets home so I really don't want the lessons to end! We're just enjoying our time together as a family :-)
In other news... in an attempt to squeeze every dollar out of our budget, I managed to squeeze out about $85.00 by making a few phone calls. Most of this was changing insurance plans, calling AT&T, etc... But not too shabby!
Hope you all are having a great summer and are staying cool!

Now, especially since Fred is a teacher, we LOVE summertime around here! I just wish it wasn't so hot--like at 9:00 in the morning! This summer should be more fun than last because we have some things planned to do (mostly indoors) and Fred shouldn't have too much teacher stuff to do as he did last year. This school year has been a really rough one for him due to several stinkers in his class. Even his team lead said he should get an award for what he's endured and the spirit with which he's done it. That doesn't surprise me in the least bit... he know's He works for someone else ;-) Because of this rough school year, this summer will be so much sweeter than usual. It's an adjustment since K and I get used to our own little routine during the week, but by the end of the summer, we miss him so much! Hopefully, this summer will also bring the 2nd annual string of "Mommy Mondays" - this is the day in which he tells me to go do whatever I want to do and to not come home until I'm ready. :-) Some days I just go to the book store and look around, or to Michaels and window shop and then go get some lunch or a coffee, but last year, my favorite was going to breakfast at this old place, going to the Japanese Gardens and taking lots of really cool pictures, window shopping (and a tad bit of real shopping) and lunch. At first I felt a little guilty about Mommy Mondays but I come back a refreshed mommy afterwards and that, is priceless! I think every mommy should get a Mommy Monday :-) Happy Summer!

"Godliness with contentment is great gain". There have been times in my life where one of the blessings that God gave me was the amazing gift of contentment. I'm sorry to say that I didn't appreciate it as much as I should have at the time. It seems now that this is my newest challenge/test. Contentment is such a difficult thing to obtain sometimes. Yet it seems, at least for me, that often, when I'm not searching for it, that's when He blesses me with it.
