Heard this for the first time at the Penn State Glee Club concert. Penn State performed it in the aisles directly after the intermission, and they marched on beat, making their feet thud hard as they walked up to the stage.
Cool, I'm going to have to check out the lyrics (some are a bit hard to understand in the video).
So when I first moved out to State College, I wasn't going to have a place to live for a week because I had to be out there before my apartment was officially available two days before classes. So my dad talked to his boss, who talked to her friend, who talked to her cousin who lives in State College north of campus. She gave me a bedroom and place to stay for five days before I could officially move in.
A year and a half later, I interviewed with an ag organization with a director who had the same last name as who I lived with for five days. I dismissed it as coincidence...
...or at least, I did until I scrolled through my news feed on Facebook two weeks later and noticed that the director posted a comment on the status of the person I lived with. The director is that friend.
And the director is now my boss.
Yes. I have a job. In West Lafayette, Indiana. Start date is May 15. Working on a house to rent. Thinking about a dog. Ready in every way except for that tiny matter of finishing my thesis.
My parents are coming out here this weekend for my Penn State University Choir concert. It's on Sunday night on campus. Here is some of our repertoire, the same arrangements:
Salseo
Misa Criolla (we're doing the first two movements of this one, which is the beginning to 10:22)
Bright Mornin' Stars
From Grief to Glory, Verse II. Love in Grief
Calling My Children Home
Cindy
And my favorite, Amazing Grace (sends chills up my spine every time we sing it. I think you'll be able to tell one reason why I like it at the second verse....in other news, when I typed it in to YouTube's search bar, I accidentally typed "Amazing Grass")
Congratulations! Hope your folks can maybe take some of your stuff home with them when they come. :D
Those of you in PA have met Kelly, and I had the chance to work with her on a project for my comm class. It is a multimedia class where we use text, photography, audio, and video to tell a story. It is right up my alley, and recently, our assignment was to compose a story about a person who considers music to play an important role in his or her life. So I talked to Kelly. Here's the story, which is currently the main story on the News page, which can be accessed by clicking the News tab at the top of the page.
Let's see. Other news. I just got back from an East Coast tour including Maine, New Hampshire, Boston, and Rhode Island. There are a lot of people there. I was glad to come back to where it's less crowded (I never thought I'd think of State College as anything but as having a lot of people). Pictures will come later. I should actually do work this week. Not that I didn't last week. It's just that it was Spring Break and everybody was gone, and so was my motivation....
I had a phone interview last Wednesday, but I have decided I don't want that job. It was for one area of Extension, but I want to be involved in the ag area instead. So I've applied for ag area jobs. I'm up to a total of having applied for ten counties.
Still waiting to hear back about a job I interviewed for over Christmas Break.
