Guy Fawkes Lewes 2006

Yesterday was the annual pilgrimage to Lewes for the fireworks. This time we decided not to go to the Cliffe and just went to the procession. This made it a much more manageable affair, but still good fun. As usual bangers were being let off all over the place and it was a good atmosphere. Also had an interesting optical effect occur, whereby a really bright red flare someone was holding, made the yellow flames turn green.

Halloween in green

Currently have green hair, post halloween party. Discovered that applying white face paint is hard work and far too sticky.

Cool pictures, did you have a good time? Were your Converses a reference to Kevin of the Roark Farm?

It was excellent fun. Though we didn't finish till 4am...

The converses were just the closest I could get to purple shoes - that I might still wear after the party. Hadn't thought about the possible Sin City reference.

There's life in the old powerbook yet

Well I just had a pleasant surprise. A while back I'd entered the serial number of my powerbook's battery into the battery recall program (just in case it decided to explode). However I never received a confirmation email about it. Yesterday I tried phoning up Apple to find out what was going on, but it was out of office hours so not much luck. Today I happened to be working from home (bit of construction work being done in the office) and suddenly UPS turned up with a new battery!

Given that I'd abused the current battery so much (it barely manages an hour, whereas it used to last about four) I'm rather glad to get the new battery.

BTW, how long did it take for yours to be delivered? I signed up via their webform as well, and was very impressed that they would be willing to deliver to germany, even though I bought it in the US :)

Must have taken about 3 weeks? Tobin's arrived about a week before mine, despite signing up a few days after. However his battery was for the 15" PB, so I guess they had more of them laying around.

it's also lovely having 4+ hours of battery life again - though this time I'm going to take much better care of it.
