I thought this was interesting and very well done.

Joshuah Ellis Photography is off the ground!

Image Hosted by

Well folks, Joshuah Ellis Photography is here. Thanks to Aaron I have an awesome logo (see above), and that was really the final piece of the puzzle for me getting this whole thing started. I am starting small (obviously) but I would love to eventually be the go to guy here in Sweetwater. I have done some outdoor portraits and some stuff in studio (my living room) as well. I think I am going to focus more on outdoor stuff though. Natural light can't be bought plus there is a lot more freedom and fewer expenses. I would love to try some weddings, engagement, newborn, senior pics and anything else that would let me photograph people. Granted, this is just a side-business but I would like to see it do well. Below is some of my work, and I would love to know what you think. I would like to think that I have a style that will keep me from being white noise in this market. I guess we'll see.

Hopefully there will be a website in the near future.

I like it. When you visit Eastside in a few weeks, be sure and get with Mickey Suttle. He started his photography business just a few years ago and it is thriving now. He's even had to hire employees. You could probably get some great info from him on building your business. Great Photos. God Bless.

I'd love for you to take our family portrait....if we can get everyone together at the same time that you'd be here :)

Good seeing you guys too. Just the hint in the back of your mind that you might possibly remember hearing that somewhere... anywhere... is enough to make me happy. I always have the terrible feeling no one anywhere ever remembers what I preached!

But that has its advantages, because if I ever go back to where I have preached before then I can preach the same lessons and it be new to them:)

Glad you guys made it home safe. God Bless.

Love is a Choice

"The Hebrew word for heart is 'lebab.' While you may never use or hear that word again, I assure you it is very important. The word means 'inner man, mind, or will.' Remember, the heart is a muscle that pumps blood, so this has to be a figurative reference. Here we see that the word points to our will. Hence biblical love is AN ACT OF THE WILL; it is a choice."

-Vodie Baucham Jr. "Family Driven Faith" p. 57.

If love is a choice, (and it is) why don't we choose to love more often. Whether we are talking about our brethren, our spouse, our children or our God, love is something we DO. It is not something we feel.

Start loving. Do it more. Do it now.

In answer to you question about becoming a criminal, not long. Keep in mind that our courts are dictatorships. That is where I see the attack coming from as more godless liberal judges are appointed.

Won't be long, Josh. When you're arrested for preaching the gospel or having the nerve to say that certain behaviors are wrong (gasp!), I'll come visit you in prison. :)

Actually, we may ALL be in prison.

The Tonka is my nephew Owen's. Too bad you moved to yee-haw land. Otherwise you could play with it! ;)

I LOVE the picture of Jaxon!

I am STOKED that Kris won American Idol.

Adam was a good singer "technically" but I cannot see anyone buying a CD that he put out. He will be much better off in the chorus of "Cats."

I look forward to Kris Allen's first CD.
