Alice in Wonderland!

Well, I have been very busy...as you can tell by the lack of posts!

Our homeschool drama production is this week. Our first production was last night, and we have another one tonight! It is great working with these young people. I really enjoy being the director. All of my children were born naturally DRAMATIC! Alice in Wonderland has proved to be a very enjoyable play. Wish you all could attend.

Sorry ,I have not replied sooner , I don't get on pleo very often. I was wondering from what you said, does Ed not attend where you do anymore? As for Kim, she was sending me little notes (of a social nature) every now and then. When I plainly stated that because we love her we could not pretend everything was unchanged she completely cut us off. She had even written that her and the man she was living with were going to be in Huntsville , wanting to go to lunch.... It still breaks my heart when I dwell too long on the friend I lost. I won't stop hoping and praying she will come to her senses.

Add me to the list of people who would love to be there. Of course, I would cry. I'm mostly unemotional, but kids on stage makes me cry faster than anything else. I love their performances more than I do the professional ones.

Busy Holiday Season

We have had an extremely busy holiday season.

*Giftmas at my parents house in Liberty, TX, 12/12. (That was an event, in and of itself... An aging house, hurricanes, and aging occupants are not conducive to keeping a house in working order. Having construction workers in the house working on a bathroom and a kitchen sink, with a housefull of people, adds to the memories!) We took the little boy, Alex, that we have been keeping since he was 4 weeks old. He is now 3.

*Have sporatic illnesses...and the kids go to Mississippi with their biological father for Christmas, 12/24 (minus Brandon who had to work and Rebekah who had Strep Throat.)

*Kids came home early from MS, so we had our Giftmas early on 12/26. Then Giftmas with in-laws on 12/28.

*Several movie visits to see...New Moon, A Christmas Carol, Alvin and the Chipmunks 2, etc.

*Making Chex Mix, Choc. covered Pretzels, Cookies, and other goodies to eat and to GIVE!

*New Years Eve with some great people from our local congregation... Ashley going to TN for a visit.

*College Football

*Finally, and reluctantly back to school...

Still to come: Trying to plan a trip for Brandon and Ashley to FC's Falcon Days. Trying to find Scholarship money to get them to FC in the Fall. Trying to finish up their Sr. year of homeschooling *sniff-sniff*

FORGOT TO ADD: MY OLDEST CHILD, AND ONLY BOY TURNED 18 ON DEC. 18!!!

Hope you're feeling better. We're still lovin' our Keurig! It was a big hit over the holidays, as our son loves stronger coffee than we do. He hit the button first thing every morning. Luckily, we'd ordered some stuff we don't like... he loved it! Hope you're getting to stay under the covers with a big mug of hot chocolate that your family makes for you 'cause you're sick.~smile~

THANKSGIVING

I want to wish everyone a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

I have so many things to be thankful for...the Lord has truly blessed my family. My beautiful children are all with me at my parents house. My husband is sitting beside me as we relax after the drive and shopping for Thanksgiving dinner with my mom. My parents are still holding their own, which is a blessing when you are 75 and 79. More family will be in tomorrow...including all 3 of my brothers and most of their families. These times are so precious to me.

Time is rushing along with my 2 oldest children. Their senior year seems to be flying. Why can't it slow down just a little so we can savor these times? It seems the more I want things to slow down, the busier we get, and time just flies! These years with my babies have gone so fast! What great blessings they are!

Here's to hoping your Thanksgiving is as fruitful as mine!!!
  • sallyanne
Lovely blog. Time is flying by...you are so right.
I was snuggling Josh-who-has-an-icky-cough and Jonathan said, "Golden. Before you know it you'll be filling out his college application."

Another Teenager in the House...

and that makes 4! Yes, I now have 4 teenagers! Kendra is 13 today! Where has the time gone? It seems like yesterday she was my mama's girl (and VERY much so!) She has always been attached to me. She also has a tender heart, and a heart of service to others. (Her siblings are the only ones who bring out the "wrong" side of Kendra! LOL) So, as you can see, things are just rolling along here.

We didn't get to do much for her birthday today because of unexpected guests and a soccer tournament. I hope to get in a few surprises for her special birthday on Monday. I will keep you updated... I did surprise her tonight with a Facebook.

My mother had 3 teenage boys at once, but they were that age after I left home to marry. What I remember is that you could almost never get them filled up! And she had two younger girls as well. Four must be lots of fun!!! You are blessed.

    Congratulations!!!

I had four teens at once, too. I was so sad that Nicole turned twenty before Rebecca turned 13 so I couldn't have five of 'em.=)

Happy Birthday to Kendra. You've got something I'll never have -- besides a house full of girls -- 4 teenagers at once. We're at our height of teenagers around here -- 3.

We had 4 teenagers in our family only from January to September.... Phyllis turned 13 in January, and I turned 20 the following September. What Dad found difficult is that a few years before, when I started college, all four of us were in different schools.... and Dad did most of the driving! Funny how we got another car soon after that.

(Thanks for your congratulations! We expended so much energy in Nashville, at least a fourth of us came home sick. At least 4 of us couldn't even sing on stage Saturday)
