My title could repeat itself...

because we just went to FLORIDA AGAIN! Yes, another year of higher education has begun for the oldest 2 Harrison children. They are both excited to return to another year of Florida College. They have the best friends and professors in the world! Our trip was great and felt like a vacation.

Here at home, the younger 3 children have started school, also. Homeschooling is WONDERFUL! Rebekah is a Senior this year...hard to believe! Kendra is a Sophomore and Hannah is in 8th grade. Kendra and Hannah are attending Classical Conversations again this year. It is a challenging program, but they both seem to excell in that environment. Who can beat one day a week at school? They go to classes on Tuesday, have a tutor introduce their lessons for the week, and complete the lessons at home. I'm still the one responsible for their education, but it is nice to have it all planned out for me! HA! Also helps me with accountability!!! I keep the nursery during the school days on Tuesday. I have some precious babies this year. I love that!!!

Another change in our household...Alex (who we have kept since he was 4 weeks old) has started public kindergarten. He almost stayed here for another year of homeschooling, but his parents decided at the last minute to send him to school. The house is so quiet without him. Landon (2) is still here, but Alex is missed. I'm having my first EVER experience in the "carpool line" in the afternoons when I pick him up. I think I could have lived my entire life without that experience!

Well, I think that is all for now... Life passes so quickly!!!

Sounds like your year is off to a good start. So is ours. Will Brandon and Ashley be through with FC after this year or are they in it for 4 years?

Hi! Your mom reminded me it was your birthday today. Happy Birthday! Then I remembered the time I made you a stuffed bright yellow calico cat for your birthday.

Florida AGAIN!

Next week I return to Florida College to retrieve my 2 oldest children! I can't wait for them to be home for the summer. I just wish it wasn't a 16 hour drive. I will be helping them pack up their belongings and putting most of it in storage. We are hoping to get a group together to share a unit. Any tips?
  • didow
Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you. I know you're enjoying having all your kids under one roof again.

Birthdays!

My second child and first daughter, Ashley, turned 18 on March 28. We planned a surprise visit to Florida for the occasion! We left on Thursday, March 24, and arrived around 6pm on Friday. We had plans for a Disney Breakfast early on Saturday morning, so the college kids had packing to do! I got them out of classes on Monday and Tuesday, so our Disney plans were complete. My mil also came with us to celebrate.

Saturday after our Alice in Wonderland breakfast, we went to Downtown Disney. We had a couple of "extra" friends with us that day.
Sunday after worship, we went to Disney's Hollywood Studios.
Monday, Ashley's 18th Birthday, we went to Epcot. It never stopped RAINING! We were cold and wet all day. That night I scheduled a special "Princess" dinner for her at Akershus in Norway. It proved to be a very special dinner.
Tuesday, we went to the Magic Kingdom. It was packed! We tried to do all we could before having to drive the FC kids back to school.
Wednesday, we decided we needed a day of rest. We went to the Titanic museum (the one in Branson is MUCH better), and then back to the resort for a little R&R. A storm hit with great winds that scared us all. It passed by the time for evening services.
Thursday, MORE RAIN, so we decided to wait for our last day of Disney and went shopping instead.
Friday, we went to Disney's Animal Kingdom. Can you say PACKED??? We hit the highlights and decided to hop back over to Magic Kingdom. It proved unprofitable because it was also packed. I guess since it rained 2 days this week, everyone was trying to fit their last day of Disney in before they had to go home. We decided to leave and go back to Tampa. Ate dinner with our FC kids.
Saturday, we began our trip home.
Sunday, we arrived home about 11pm.
Monday, trying to unpack...
Tuesday, I began to feel sick...went to the DR....said it was strep, and got meds. Expected to feel better by now, but here it is, Friday and I am still sick! UGH.

Tomorrow, April 9th, my BABY will be 13! I cannot believe it! Where has the time gone? So yes, I will have 5, read it FIVE teenagers!

No fair! I haven't seen Andrew since the beginning of January, and he's not coming home until the 1st week in June.

That is an amazing birthday celebration (and such a wonderful surprise for Ashley).
Hope you're feeling better soon. Maybe those ABs don't work well for you and you need a different script.

Sounds like a wonderful trip! ... minus the rain and getting sick afterwards. I can't believe my oldest can legally get behind the wheel of a car in a couple of weeks! :/

I am doing the HCG diet. I am nearly complete with the second phase. It has been difficult, but I'm loving feeling good and fitting into clothes that either I haven't worn in a long, long time or have never worn!

Hey, Friend!! Good to see you at least feeling reasonably well enough to post on Pleo! We really need a long chat session on the phone again some time! No spring play this year, I guess? Both your kids coming home for the summer?

    Amazing trip!!!
I have four teenagers, but sadly realized that I'll never have five. When Julia turns 13 in 2013, Jonathan will be 21!! Can you even imagine that??

Hannah

Ok... I know that most people have moved to FB, but Hannah isn't quite old enough yet. She wanted a Pleo. SO...my youngest, Hannah, now has a pleo. Please go and tell her hello, so she can have some friends!

Holidays

Well, it has been quite awhile since I visited pleonast!

The holidays have flown by! I cherished every moment with my dear college students. I also got to spend time with Ashley's new friend, Spencer. He flew in for the last week of break. He seems like a very nice boy. 3 weeks is such a short period of time! Now they are settled back into their second semester at FC. I miss them terribly.

I guess that is all for now...LOL

Hi.... thinking of sitting in daffodils, and remembering that truly peaceful retreat. Cherish every moment you have with your "kids." It's still wonderful to have the growing family we do--7 grandchildren now--but the days of OUR children tramping down the stairs in the morning bring many wonderful memories as well.
