Can you believe it?! The nurse told us and we just sat there a second before the inevitable "Are you sure?" She's sure. "Positive?" Then she starts explaining the anatomy. Yep, she's positive. What she didn't know is that Harwards have boys. For generations, all boys...until now! Guess I'm their "go to" girl, huh? :) Yay! We're having a girl!

It'll be fun to make everyone think she's a genius! :) Well, we do think she's pretty stinkin' smart, but hey we're her parents, we're supposed to think she's the smartest and cutest baby ever, or at least that's what I hear!

    I actually think about that a lot. For a while I didn't want another kid mainly because I didn't think I could love them equally. I guess it's a little too late for that. I can't wait to hold him.

    Thanks for filling me in on the family relation. Terry is one of my best friends here in Tulsa; not sure if he knows that, but it's true. Our Calebs are about a month apart, and we've been having some stiff competitions between the two. Ever since he got that cast though, it just didn't seem fair to have stair climbing races anymore. Can't wait to tell him I 'met' you when he gets back from skiing.

    We got Jeff and Michelle and Eron and Kelley to watch the season premiere and our friend Jeff back on it who has a roomate that is now hooked as well just from the premiere. it's so great that everyone's "in" so to speak! :) Oh and I love that your parents are so in love with the show, we talked about it a lot when they were here last.

Baby News

I don't really have anything to report except that we find out the sex of the baby today! I thought I might try and wait until delivery again, but I didn't make it last time so who am I kidding? Trevor and Karalei, you are first on my list to call (after grandparents, of course, Momma and Daddy) because I feel so bad that you were last to know about the bun in the first place. But I will warn you that the last two times I've tried to call you I couldn't get through so I'm going to have to move on if it happens again. Cell phones on, please! :) In Ethan news...he has discovered that if he drags his stool to the light switch he's tall enough to turn the lights on and off. I think I might be getting epilepsy! Also, he has successfully transitioned to a big bed (and I mean big! Our extra bed is a queen size. He looks so tiny!) His favorite thing is to sit on his bed and read books and jump off the bed to get a new book. Sometimes the first jump isn't good enough so he climbs back on to try it again before he's satisfied. I think we can all relate. :)

Daddy...is that you?

OK, We've always said how Ethan looks like Daddy, especially around the eyes. Well, today it was taken to a whole new level. A friend of ours gave Ethan a new Veggie Tales baseball hat and he loves it! The second we got in the car to go to church, he saw it and started begging for it, so I put it on him. Being a brand new hat and not even taken out of the car yet, I didn't get a chance to curve the bill of this hat. (I think you all know where I'm going with this...) It was astonishing how much he looked like Daddy with this nerdy, straight-billed hat on his head. So just to finish the effect, I adjusted it to "sit high" on the head like Daddy does. Zane and I laughed and laughed! As an aside, Ethan does not ride in the car without his sunglasses anymore. Even if it's pitch black outside, he insists on wearing them. Crazy kid!

    I believe there is some implications about my character that are less than wholesome. Ethan is a wonderful grandson with obvious leanings toward the genetics that will make him exceptional as a man. To demean him (and me) publicly in this way is to possibly incur wrath. Ethan I am proud of you and I am sorry you have goofy parents. I will do all I can to help you over the shortcomings of your parents. OK, I know I just posted, but there's something I have to share that I'm a little concerned about. I was at the doctor and the nurse was going over my history. She asked me if there was any mental retardation in the family and when I told her no, she gave me the raised eyebrow! She actually paused her writing and looked up at my face with a raised eyebrow followed by, "So...no Down's Syndrome, sickle cell disease...none of that?" I repeated my answer and she sorta sighed with the air of "ohhhh-kaaaayyy" and wrote it down. What is that supposed to mean?!

I adore food!

OK, I've passed the nasty sick phase and am very comfortable in this new I-want-to-eat-everything-in-sight phase. My cravings are so much more fun this time! I've craved clam chowder and fried potato sandwiches, ring-tum-didi, brown sugar roll-ups, sloppy joes, fried rice and I eat mac and cheese every day. Sometimes I'll flip through the channels looking for food commercials to give me ideas. And the best part is that at Thanksgiving and Christmas I'll be the perfect amount of pregnant to thoroughly enjoy all the scrumptiousness that IS the holidays! I'll be smack dab in the middle of food-craving time and still small enough that I'll have the room to hold all the delicious food I want. The downside is that I won't be able to eat the marvelous oysters when we go to FL. *sigh* Even still, life is good. As a side note, my adorable baby's new word is "sweet!" As in... Mommy says: "Let's go get you some Cheerios." Ethan says: "Sweet!"
