Wonderful update on my mom!
Mom has now completed 8 chemo treatment and had a follow up CT scan yesterday. Today, she talked to the oncologist's nurse and she was able to give her the preliminary report. She said, "the scan shows a thickening in the esophagus, due to the cancer, but NO carcinogenic cells. There are some fatty cells in the liver, which is normal for many people, but NO carcinogenic cells there either." How wonderful! Praise be to God!
She will see the oncologist again on Tuesday to get a full report and to discuss what they will do now that the cancer appears to be gone. The nurse thinks she will continue to receive some treatments, but hopefully they will be able to decrease the dosage or how often she has them. She continues to struggle with the side effects, especially the extreme fatigue. Mom has always been a night owl, but has been going to bed between 7-8 pm and sleeping for 12-14 hours. She is hoping that if they decrease the frequency of the treatments, she will have more "good days" and feel up to getting out of the house more.
Thank you all so much for your support. I really do appreciate it. We know that this is an answer to so many prayers, so keep them going. God is so good!!!
Much love to all,
Laura
