A Must Place To Visit

Larry and I just returned from visiting with Brian and Ashley in Oregon! The main purpose was to attend Brian's graduation from Oregon State University on June 12th. The day was warm and sunny but no match for how I was feeling! The ceremony took place in the football stadium. I don't think I have ever seen such a well planned, organized event as this. The school claims it is one of very few that actually hands the graduate THEIR diploma!! I'm so proud of Brian!! He has always been an independent learner and he proved to be very self-motivated. Now he has his BS in Agriculture and will be starting a one year certificate course in Aquarium Management in September!!
We started off at the coast and after Sunday morning services in Beaverton, we headed to the mountains(Ashley's favorite place in the world and now mine!). The rental was more than I ever expected!! The view was fabulous!! Mountains, one after another, North Sister,Middle Sister, South Sister, Broken Top and just on and on!! You just couldn't help but catch the excitement and joy Ashley felt being there!! What a wonderful daughter-in -law I have been blessed with!!
I'm sold-Oregon is beautiful!! I just wish it was closer to Connecticut!! Love to alll!!

Oregon is a beautiful place. When I lived there I had never seen the moon the way I did there. The rainbows were bigger and brighter too.

Central Oregon is beautiful! So glad you go to enjoy it! We took Donna and Courtney there 6 years ago. It was just a day trip, but, I'm glad they got to see the beautiful country. I hope that you are able to go back sometime and enjoy it again.

I really tend to have to "brace" for summer. Hot has never been my favorite, which is why I can enjoy it more if it cools off at night. I remind myself that winter is hard too (seems to get harder as I get older ;-P) and try not to complain, but remember the good parts, enjoyable to walk on the beach, garden is so pretty, don't have to heat the house... Thanks for your good wishes and hope to see you soon!

HI, Ro! Yes, Jordan worshipped at Exton. The preacher, Jeff Smelser picked him up. He said he knew you from RI and to say Hi! It's a small world, isn't it? :)

We enjoyed it so much, too!!! We actually got to see them twice and had a blast both times!!! Peter was like a kid in a candy store at the huge lego store and then Sarah and I raided the Ghiradelli Chocolate shop like it was Peter in a Lego store. I don't think it could have been more perfect. :)

RAIN,RAIN go away!!!

The northeast is saturated. Water, water, every where. So far some water in the basement but nothing like many others . A potentially dangerous situation at work today. The company Larry and I work at is on one of the rivers that has exceeded flood stage . The driveways into the building were close to impassable at 5:45am this morning. As more workers arrived late, stories began to circulate about rising water and stalling cars in the huge, deep puddle that was the enterance driveways. A few hours later, the company reported that they would need to cut the fence and lay boards on the grass in order for us to leave at the end of the day. Not 1/2 hour later, we were told that we were to leave in shifts starting immediately. I don't know how the evacuation went because we were one of the first to leave. Despite the road conditions ,we arrived home about 1 hour later. Praise God for showing us a safe way to get home.

Hi Rosalie. I really need to talk to you, on the phone if possible. Is there a good time to call? It's really hard to get ahold of you with the call system you have. It doesn't like those foreign calls. Hope all is well. Please let me know when we can chat. Love to you and the family.

We're moving locally, going camping in our not-yet-finished-with-renovation Airstream trailer by the dunes, maybe visiting a few zoos, museums, and parks, hoping to garden, take walks with the jogging stroller when it is sunny, get the last 5-7 pounds gone to meet my goal weight, and attend a few sheep and wool type events. :)

The SNOW is a comin"

We're bracing for a whopper of a storm!! All the good stuff- heavy wet snow, whipping winds up to 60mph, 8-16" of the white stuff to move around and get off the roads!! Don't you just love WINTER!! How are you coping? Are you the type that grabs a book and a blanket and call me when it's over! Or are you the grab the shovel or sled and out the door at the first flake! I'll admit that the older I get I'm more the type that sits in the window and marvels at the Glory of God and His wonderful creation all covered in a beautiful blanket of white. Let me know how you deal with the white stuff!!
  • _sylviaanne_
Well. if we had any, we would have a good, and annoying time. Get the point?

We skip winter, and I love it that way. I love not living with snow. It's so convenient. We have Irises and Daffodils sprouting in the back yard. :)

But if I did have snow, I'd build a fire in the fireplace and have a cozy day.

Cozy day for me! Do school as usual, but light candles, make some hot cocoa, soup, etc... Cole LOVES to shovel the snow, so I gladly send him out!

I go play in it for one day, and hope the power stays on until I get all the wet laundry done! Then it's movies or books, and comfort food! Snowy days make me miss having a fireplace, though.
