Time Travel

Wouldn't you have loved to have been Adam when he named all the animals? If you could travel back in time and trade places with any biblical character for a day or an event, who would it be and why?

there are times when i think i would've liked to have been the mary in the garden because to have shared that relationship with him to where all he would've had to do was to say my name to make me realize it was Him implies that we would've been pretty close...or i would've loved to have been mary the sister of lazarus for the same reason.

Heart Appointments

The girls' heart appointment went well. Our doctor did not think there was very much change from the ECHOs taken six months ago. He does not think Maddie needs a mitral valve replacement at this time, and he said he's pretty sure Laynie is stable at this point. He would like us to make a trip to the U of M hospital in Minneapolis to get a second opinion from our cardiologist there. We talked about the fact that both girls are sleeping more and seem to get fatigued easily. He does think both are heart related issues.

Thank you so much for praying for our family. I know I am very blessed to have so many people in our lives who pray diligently for us and it is a constant source of comfort and strength.

Romans 8:28 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

One Down, two to go

My appointment at the oncology office went well and I will need to be followed closely but have no further treatment at this time.

Laynie and Maddie's heart appointments are Thursday and I will be calling our neurosurgeon about Laynie's lack of improvement with intrathecal therapy so she can be evaluated for decompression surgery.

Thank you for your fervent prayers, my loving and faithful friends. Our God is merciful, compassionate, and wise in His plan for all of us and I trust in Him. I just cry sometimes while doing so.

I need your prayers

Today we received some bad news about Laynie. Our doc thinks she will need a spinal decompression surgery, something I hoped we would never ever hear.

On Monday, I received a phone call with the results of a breast MRI I had last week. I have a new mass near my lymph nodes and will be going in for a third set of tests on Monday.

Next week, Maddie and Laynie have an appointment with our cardiologist to discuss heart valve replacements.(an OH procedure) I am concerned about each girl needing this surgery.

I know we are told not to worry about tomorrow, but we are also told to share our burdens.

If you were me, how would you solicit help, prayers, and strength? I just need a little encouragement to keep it all together.
  • raifhaus
I will be praying. I'll have a LOT of time in the car this weekend.... more time to speak your names to the Father. Get the prayer army working!!

Amy, I am so sorry! I had not heard this until now. I just explained most of it to Tyler, even about you, and we are all going to pray for your entire family, with special emphasis today on you and Laynie. The reassurance you asked for can be provided from all your friends and also from prayer with our Father. You are His child and He loves you more than we as humans can. Lean on Him, give Him your burdens and pain, and He will bear them for you. He will give you peace, as only He can. We all love you, Steve, and the girls so much!!!
