if you haven't heard this song, i highly advise you listening to it ASAP!!!! its most definitley my favorite 'church song' but its fastly becoming my favorite song period. its SO amazing. B-E-A-UTIFUL!
my favorite version is by The Zoe Group, if you wanna look them up. :) lovvvve you all! hope your week is going fantastic!!
In Christ Alone
In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand
In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
'Till on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live
There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost it's grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Brought with the precious blood of Christ
No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
'Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand

WARNING!!!: this post is going to be incredibly random...
"If you cannot bear the silence nor the darkness, do not go there. If you dislike black night and yawning chasms, never make them your profession. If you fear the sound of running water hurrying through the crevices toward unknown and mysterious destinations, do not consider it. Seek out the sunshine. It's a simple prescription. Aviod the darkness.
It's a simple prescription, yet you will not follow it. You will immediatley turn to the darkness. You will be drawn into it by cords of fear and of longing. You will imagine that you are tired of the sunshine; the waters that unnerve you will tug in the ancient recesses of your mind. The midnight will seem restful; you will end by going down."
- Loren Eiseley (The Night Country)
don't make life more difficult than it really is. count your blessings. it will distract you.

also, ive recently added a few things to my "things that make me happy" list i started a couple months back... not that your intrested, but it makes me feel good to think about them. :)
-opening to the exact page number in the song book on your first try.
-listening o a song you haven't heard in forever, and still remembering all the words.
-seeing a really old couple holding hands.
-when you lay a sleeping child down in there crib and you have to pry their arms from around your neck.
-when it rains between church services on sunday, but not during.
-someone flashing their lights at you to let you know theres a cop ahead. (not that i need that...just nice to see some thoughtfulness)
i accidenty left my Bible at the church building, and thats where my list is, so this is all i remember ive added...

i'm horridly sorry this is so boring. i'll end with a quote...
"The reason people find it so hard to be happy is because they see the past better than it was, the present worse than it is, and the future more resolved than its going to be."

i ran over a squirrel.
on the way back, it was laying belly up and the white was blazing accusations at me.
i felt really bad, but at the same time, the squirrel was an idiot. it was on the other side of the road, and then darted in front of me. i was in a hurry, and if i had swirved i would have wrecked no doubt.

-Herman Melville
also, since a just got back from Mcadory's first home game...
"People often ask me what i do in the winter when there's no baseball. i'll tell you what i do- stare out the window and wait for spring."

my back has been hurting lately, so over the past month or so, ive been going to the chiropractir. i just got home a minute ago and i wanted to share a story.
the office is in hoover, and its very open. there are no individual rooms, just one huge lobby with a couple rooms for storage and things in the back. so anyway, im laying facedown on one of those tables and it was just me and the doctor. no other patients, and no nurses. so this middlge aged white gyu walks in and pulls out a knife (with handle, it was about 6 inches) and says "look, im gonna make this as simple as possible. just give me your money and i wont hurt you."
so, of course, dr klein gives him the cash he had with him and the guy walks out.
so, im pretty confident when i say that ive never been that scared in my enitre life. i just started shaking like a little girl. (still shaking, actually. this only happened like 30 minutes ago) the doctor calls in a robbery and the cops come. i tell an officer what i saw and heard. i mostly heard, though, since i was laying down.
im ok, but its times like these when your thankful for being a child of God. thank the Lord for watching over me.
