A woman once fretted over the usefulness of her life.

She feared she was wasting her potential by being a devoted wife and mother. She wondered if the time and energy she invested in her husband and children would make a difference.

At times she got discouraged because so much of what she did seemed to go unnoticed and unappreciated. “Is it worth it?” she often questioned. “Is there something better that I could be doing with my time?”

It was during these moments that she heard the still, small voice of her Heavenly Father speak to her heart.

“You are a wife and mother because that is what I’ve called you to be. Much of what you do is hidden from the public eye. But I notice. Most of what you give is done without payment. But I am your reward.

Your husband cannot be the man I have called him to be without your support. Your influence upon him is greater that you think and more powerful than you will ever know. I bless him through your service and honor him through your love.

Your children are precious to Me- even more precious than they are to you. I have entrusted them to your care to raise for Me. What you invest in them is an offering to Me.

You may never be in the public spotlight, but your obedience shines as a bright light before Me.

Remember you are My servant. Do all to please Me. Continue On.”

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Colossians 3:23, 24

Little Emma

So, my Emma is at it again. Poor thing....it is always something with her. She is not breathing well at night and when I first noticed and brought it to the Dr's attention she was dealing with some really bad allergies and such and we both just felt like it was probably related to that. Needless to say, it has continued. It is very scary watching her sleep and not be able to breath. We took her to the Dr. again and he said he was very concerned which made me very uneasy. She is now in our room being monitored. Night before last she had quit breathing and Kirk was waiting for her to breath and when he felt of her he said she was cold. He thought we lost her. I think he is still shook up over it. We have been at the mercy of another Dr. to get an oximeter machine and monitor her oxygen saturations through the night. With much persistence from us and our Dr, a guy came out yesterday with the machine. The guy that brought the oximeter was so nice and it seemed they finally realized it was urgent to get this done that he offered to go out of his way to come by at 7 this morning and pick the machine up. So, when she went to bed we hooked her up and away she went to lala land. Scary, scary. Her oxygen was low all night (around 85) and at times we saw it dip to around 73. Those were the readings we were aware of. After waiting all day and being on pins and needles, our Dr’s office called late this afternoon and told us Emma has severe sleep apnea. They have immediately put her on oxygen and are trying to get her in to a specialist asap to find out what is going on exactly and find a permanent solution. We sure are hoping to feel more at ease tonight and get better sleep. She seems to be nervous about the whole thing. She is fighting sleep at the moment…I think she is afraid to go to bed with oxygen on. I sure am thankful for a Dr. who gives us his personal cell phone #. I am even more thankful for Christian friends who are lifting my Emma up in prayer. If you don’t mind…remember us all. It has affected us all. I am glad she is loved by her siblings.

ESCAPE

I had the most amazing weekend. I was in TN with about 30 other preacher's wives. We had 5 incredible lessons and I came away so encouraged and inspired. It was truly a blessing from God.
