Loving this weather.
2nd month working in Brookwood's ICU is going good so far. Busy...but good
My awesome dog Sadie just turned 4 yesterday.
Tour de france has been kind of a let down. Plenty of great racing, just not like the way some people are doing it...
Passed state boards. woot woot
Been enjoying riding my bike. Great exercise and every time you ride it just makes you appreciate how great of athletes professional cyclists really are.
Work tomorrow (3 days a week is great, but stinks when they're back to back and you stay up late)
Lake this weekend!

I'm all about school spirit and promoting a university's mascot and what not, but I think UAB came up short in its latest effort to do so. We added a concrete statue (see below picture) in front of Bartow arena where the Blazers play their only nationally recognized sport...basketball. I know we're inconsistent, but we have shown potential...which is more than I can say for our football program. That being said, why would anyone go and put something as cartoonish looking as our new statue in front of our arena so it can be easily accessible for the cameramen to shoot so we can embarrass ourselves on national television? Don't get me wrong...I was all for the statue when I first heard the rumors and talks about getting one made...but ever since I saw the first photos, I've been a little underwhelmed.
I may just be overreacting, and it might turn out to be the greatest thing on our campus, but take a look for yourself and let me know if it looks like something you would want to represent all those years of your university's great pride and tradition?

by the way, We spent over $30 grand for those three tons of painted concrete. Oh well, at least it came with a fog machine...

I know it's been forever since I've posted but hey, nothing real big going on or too busy (a.k.a. lazy )to type it all out if there was anything.
Anyways, this weekend was a ton of fun. I went down to Auburn friday and one of my fellow UAB classmates rode with me so I enjoyed the trip a lot more since I had somebody to chat with. Once I finally got her where she needed to be, I went over to Bryan's and met him and Tyler. They were performing at Auburn's Relay For Life and went to set up/practice. I made some new friends at the Relay and got some ideas from their committee to bring back to UAB. (Our relay was 2 weeks ago and it turned out well despite mother nature's strong threats) Grabbed a quick bite with Bryan and Tyler brought along his bride to be (still can't believe their getting married so soon). Went back to Relay, they played and it sounded awesome. Went over to the
girl's trailer and hung out with a big group. Stayed up way too late but I got to visit with old friends and catch up on all the news. Spent the night at Bryan's and visited a little with him before I went to pick up my fellow UAB classmate and headed back to Birmingham.
Was in a crazy rush to get back and the radar detector saved me more than once, guy beside me a white Lexus didn't get the heads up and he got nailed by a trooper. Made it back without incident and ran by the house to pick up my favorite
girl (my awesome dog) and ran to Oak Mtn. St. park to meet Amy, Rachel, Adam, My sis, Patrick, & Erin. We took a nice long hike and saw the waterfall and enjoyed all the scenery. Sadie really enjoyed it, especially playing in the waterfall. The best part was when we got through and grilled out. Patrick & Erin had to leave, but Dan came by after work and joined us for some tasty hot dogs and roasting marshmallows over the charcoal grill with some sticks thrown in. Nevertheless, those things were awesome, if it hadn't been for the cop telling us we had to leave b/c it was time to close we would've gone through the whole bag. Basically, it was awesome, and you completely missed out on all the fun if you skipped out. lol I really think we should do it again sometime soon. If anyone didn't get the e-mail or hear about it, just let me know and I'll make sure you're in on the next batch of fun at Oak Mtn.
I know this was super long, but it's been forever since I've updated and got carried away making up for lost time. haha.
Since one
season didn't turn out all that stupendously, I'm looking forward to the next
season. Only one problem though....temperatures are in the mid 70's and final exams are casting a looming cloud over the first part of next week. How can anybody get excited about the christmas season under such conditions?
This season is ending on a very bad note.......
