Never once in the Bible are we told to "act" a certain way. we are not told to "act" tenderhearted or courteous, faithful or holy. Instead we are told to BE tenderherated and courteous (1 Peter 5:8), to BE faithful (Revelation 2:10), and to BE holy (1 Peter 1:16). Being a certain way is completely different from merely acting a certain way. Eventually the act will be revealed to men -- and more importantly, God always knows :).
So, don't act, BE! :)
Hope all is well!
ever looked at a "Chronological Bible"? They are interesting. I enjoy mine. Check one out if you get the chance :)
The wedding was beautiful and wonderful :) Everything went smoothly which was nice. The only sad thing about Saturday is that the video camera guy didn't catch the Best man/Maid of honor speeches, so the DVD will be missing those :(.
Friday night on the way to rehearsal (from rehearsal dinner) the Best man, a groomsman, a bridesmaid, and Heather and Josh were in an accident - they were all fine, just sore, but seem to be recovering fine (the people in the other vehicle were fine too). So yeah. That made the night a little more exciting.
Heather and Josh are now off visiting the East Coast for their honeymoon - Gettysburg, Washington D.C., and a beach. :) Heather called last night to tell us they made it in to Frederick, Maryland where they are staying for a few days, and it sounds like they are having tons of fun.
Mom, dad, Isaac, Robbie, and I are leaving Thursday to go on vacation - Springfield, IL. Should be very relaxing and fun.
Hope you all are having a wonderful week and summer!!
Heather is getting married a week from Saturday! It feels rather strange to me - it will be very odd to not have her sleeping across the hall. :( BUT I'm very excited for her! The wedding is getting close enough that we are to the "fun part" like getting our nails done and making hair appointments ... but it's also "crunch time" - we are paying for all the last minute things and trying to get things done like planning all the decorations. So, while fun, it's a bit stressful!
Meanwhile, I am taking 3 summer classes so every week I have:
History - 2 chapters to read, 2 discussion forums to post on, 2 quizzes
Psychology - 3 chapters to read, 1 discussion forum to post on, 1 quiz, and class once a week
Literature for Children - 3 chapters to read, 1 quiz, 2 assignments, 2 discussion forums to post on, and an occasional class.
It's not exactly fun. however, it is going to help me graduate a semester early, so I can't complain.
Today I'm spending getting homework finished for the week and everything together for Heather's personal shower.
Tomorrow the other Bridesmaids and I are going to get our dresses fitted for the wedding, and then we'll come back and decorate for the personal shower which is at 6:30. Then Hannah, and maybe my college roommate Catherine, and possibly one of the other bridesmaids, Heather Jones, are spending the night, so they don't have to drive home late, and that should be tons of fun. We'll swim (yay!).
Friday is Isaac's last baseball game for the summer, so I'll go watch -- and Saturday is the 4th of July and fireworks at Grandma's and then Lion's Club Park.
So yeah! I'm excited about the next couple of weeks -- and possibly even more excited for the fact that soon they will be a happy memory :).
...turns out weddings are a lot of work. Fun work, but still a lot of work. :)
Hope you all are doing wonderfully!
Enjoy the beautiful weather!
So, I am pretty much done with finals :D. In fact, all I have left is preparing a group presentation and giving it. Then, Wednesday at 3:30, I am checking out of the dorm and heading home :D
I'm very excited to be heading home, I will miss my roomie though :( BUT she is going to come visit me this summer! yay!
So, I'll be home for church Wednesday night :D. Then Monday - Wednesday Heather and I are headed to Denver, Colorado with my daddy (he has a business trip and we are tagging along). After that I will be home sweet home :).
My summer is filled with 9 hours of summer school (3 classes), helping Heather and Mom in their classrooms (they are both teaching summer school), and helping get everything ready for Heather's wedding.
and MOST importantly, I will be spending time with my wonderful fiance and my awesome friends and family :)
ah, I do love me some summer :)
Hope you are doing wonderfully!
I absolutely love hearing "first time preachers". I had the opportunity to hear a good friend of mine preach for the first time tonight. He did a wonderful job, I was very proud of him! What was even better was how excited he was - he was so pleased with himself, and wants to start preaching once a month ... which will be very helpful for the congregation which is a bit short on men, very edifying for all the members, and great for him. I love seeing people get truly excited about serving God!
I only have 2 weeks of classes left, and then finals :) It's a wonderful feeling ... it'd be even better if I didn't have tons of projects due before then!
I'm taking summer school this summer ... 9 hours worth ... I'm kind of dreading it a lot, but at least I will be home :) So I can't complain. AND it will help get me done a semester earlier, which means I can get married to the greatest guy in the world a bit sooner. :)
Plans for Heather's wedding are coming along nicely - its a bit stressful and I feel like we are running out of time, but things seem to be falling into place, and all is well :).
Hope you all have a wonderful week - remember to serve God AND be excited about it :) It truly is a wonderful thing.
