We are having a little girl! I am so excited I can hardly wipe the smile off of my face. Her name is Violet Paige and she will be joining us around May 27th. The sonogram showed a perfectly developed and healthy little girl. And she's got a good set of pretty meaty arms and legs for her age so that's fun. :) We are truly blessed. I really wanted Penelope to have a sister. Penelope will be two at the end of March. I can't believe it. I'm glad the girls will be close in age. That's something Trevor and I have wanted for our kids from before they were a twinkle in our eyes.
Everything is going well with us and I pray that everything else is well with you all.

We just had a great vacation. Our friends came in from TN and spent a week here and it was a blast. Their kids are cute and Penelope had a blast playing with them. She was asking where Jojo was today. :) That's what she's calling Josie. Too cute. We went to Cadillac Ranch, Palo Duro Canyon, 6th Street (a street in Amarillo with great shops and antique stores), the park (a lot), and the zoo. The grown ups went shopping a little and then we saw a movie while my mom and granny watched the kiddos. Good Times. Trevor and Curtis ate a burger called the Big Labowski at a restaurant in Canyon. It's a bacon cheeseburger but instead of buns it's sandwiched with two grilled cheese sandwiches. They weren't to happy about it right after dinner but the next day they were pretty proud of themselves.
I'm getting my house cleaned up today. That's my Monday routine since I just like to laze around with Trevor on the weekend. I'm listening to the new Pearl Jam album courtesy of my awesome friend Lacy. We are both huge fans. :) The music is so amazing. It's hard to not just sit down on the couch and listen and skip my chores. (Which is kind of what I'm doing now.)
Hope everyone is doing well. We're great. Back to responsibilities, blah, blah, blah.

We are getting so excited for next week! We have our good friends coming for a visit with their adorable little ones and we can hardly wait!
I am getting the house cleaner than usual so that's nice. :)
Trevor took off of work for the whole week so that's icing on the cake. I am really looking forward to a lot of quality time with my favorite people.
I am making a couple of curtain panels for the living room. I'm using Curtis and Amy's visit as an excuse to "need" to get them finished. We also got our sun room completely cleaned out and mopped from floor to ceiling. Now it's a little reading/play room and I am so happy it's done. It's not decorated or anything but just having it cleared out is a huge weight off of my shoulders. (It used to be our storage area.) We are making progress with the ridiculous landscaping that was around our house. The woman before us was too elderly to take care of things so there are overgrown rose bushes and ivy and juniper bushes (which I truly hate). We have cut down a lot and are in the process of digging up the rest. I'm not really into having plants or a garden. I guess I'm too lazy. I just want grass that I can water and mow and be done with. No weeding or pruning. And Trevor does the mowing so that's even better!
Penelope is 17 months old now and so hilarious these days. I'm really liking my kid. She cracks me up and she's so good and she is really sweet and affectionate. Her hugs and kisses make my day. Well, the kisses are a little slobbery, but still sweet. :) She dances any time she hears music. She laughs and says wow when she sees any animal. She LOVES other kids and she loves to draw. I think she's going to be a lefty. She likes to play tea party with me so that's super fun and girlie. She wraps her stuffed animals up and puts them to bed and makes the snoring sounds. She sings along with us at services and she sings along with her fun kid songs. Hearing her make the animal noises and say E-I-O is hilarious. I was afraid that the kid songs would get on my nerves but I actually like them. I'm a dork. I'm having a blast being a mom. Okay, enough gushing.
I hope everyone has a great holiday weekend and stay safe if you're traveling!

So I found and trapped a black widow spider at my house today. AAAAAAAHHHHHHH! I wanted Trevor to see it because I was afraid he wouldn't believe me. It's doom is soon approaching. Trevor is going to squash it and spray asap.
In a related story, Penelope saw a spider (not a deadly one) crawling across the kitchen floor and grabbed her tennis shoe and killed it.
What an awesome kid. I think we must have bought a house on a spider ranch because we have a zillion of them. It's pretty freaky. Somehow we're still sleeping well at night. Maybe not after finding a black widow, though...

So I turned 30 last weekend and it's great. I feel like a real adult now.
This morning Penelope was reading a book in her room and everywhere she saw an animal she would roar. She usually makes the appropriate animal noises so it was pretty funny to watch. She must have been feeling roar-ish.
Trevor is swimming almost every day now and he's getting very fit. I should get fit, too, but I don't feel like it. Now that I'm 30 I think I'll just let things go. :)
Not much else is going on.
Things with our congregation are good.
My family is doing well.
Penelope and I have fun days together.
And now I need to go get the pizzas out of the oven. mmmm
