Lonesome Dove is sooo on CMT tonght! This kinda makes me sad. My family and I have an annual family camping trip to Colorado in July and one of the things we always did was sit around the campfire in the evening and quote this movie! unfortunately I couldn't go this year due to work so they're up there without me so seeing this movie is kinda bittersweet!
Wes is in Peru and has been for the past week and a half....he'll be back in six days though and hopefully they'll fly by really fast!!!! I sure have been lonely without him...I'm ready for him to get back to Lubbock!!!!
Please pray for the work there. I know they've saved several souls and I hope they continue to do so in these last six days. It's amazing when people strive to spread the gospel and it's always an encouragement to me to know that there is still a strong zeal for the Lord and for teaching others about Him.
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of god for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, 'The righteous shall live by faith'"
-Romans 1:16-17
Sometimes we (and I am definitely including myself in this) are scared to offend someone or make them mad so we don't ask them to study with us. We're afraid we won't be liked or admired if we bring up the bible or God in any way. One thing that is incredibly wonderful about my fiancée is that he is never scared to ask someone to study or if they would like to know about God and His plan of salvation. He has been such an encouragement to me and I learn a lot from his example :) In fact just a few weeks ago he asked a girl who had come to church looking for friends if she would like to study and he talked to her and she was baptized the following worship service and now she and I are amazing sisters in Christ all because he decided to share the gospel with her (something I was too scared to do).
"...let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul form death and will cover a multitude of sins."
James 5:20
Well I hope everyone has a great rest of the week and enjoy your summer while it's still here....cause it's going fast!!! =)

I haven't been on here in a while! I was reminded by a certain someone (cough Mr. Morris cough) that I hadn't updated; therefore, I will briefly outline my life since my last update:
FC was great! it taught me a lot of things about myself and others for that matter that I didnt know I needed to find out! I made some great friends, learned some lessons the hard way, and experienced major disappointments. Through the ups and downs I still enjoyed where I was and what I was doing there. I think it really helped me get my feet wet coming from such a tiny high school and all. I dont think i could have survived my first year anywhere else as well as I did at FC. I am gonna miss a lot of people there, not many teachers really haha, but i did make some really great friends
I have been accepted to Texas Tech for the next semester! I am so excited to be home and in my house! As much as I liked FC, the dorms were not that great and I feel so much better just to have somewhere to move around! I needed some room! lol
Well that is it briefly I suppose...hope it didn't bore anyone too badly!
love y'all
P.S. Hi Mr. Morris!
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
enough money within her control to move out
and rent a place of her own,
even if she never wants to or needs to...
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
something perfect to wear if the employer, or date
of her dreams wants to see her in an hour...
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE...
a youth she's content to leave behind....
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
a past juicy enough that she's looking forward to retelling it in her old age....
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE .....
a set of screwdrivers, a
cordless drill, and a black lace bra...
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
one friend who always makes her laugh... and one who lets her cry...
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....
a good piece of furniture
not previously owned by anyone else in her family...
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
eight matching plates, wine glasses with stems,
and a recipe for a meal,
that will make her guests feel honored...
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
a feeling of control over her destiny..
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
how to fall in love without losing herself..
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
how to quit a job, break up
with a lover,
and confront a friend without;
ruining the friendship...
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
when to try harder... and
WHEN TO WALK AWAY...
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
that she can't change the length of her calves,
the width of her hips,
or the nature of her parents..
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
that her childhood may not
have been perfect..but it's over...
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD
KNOW...
what she would and wouldn't do for love or more...
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
how to live alone . even if she doesn't like it...
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW..
whom she can trust, whom she can't,
and why she shouldn't take it personally...
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
where to go...
be it to her best friend's kitchen table...
or a charming inn in the woods...
when her soul needs soothing...
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
what she can and can't accomplish in a day...
a month...and a year...
