    Happy Birthday Faith and Felicity!
    by nannytwistyfingers at 03/30/10 9:11PM

Hello all...

How is everyone?
We are surviving so far. Struggling a little bit with the silly economy stuff but who isn't right?

My girls are now a big 3 years old! Can you believe it? Time just goes by so fast. They are talking so well and being so big.
Lately, they tell me and their daddy, "your my best friend." I am not sure where they got that but it sure is sweet.
Something else that was cute.... We were laying in bed the other night. I had a girl on each side of me. Felicity kept grabbing my arm and smelling it. Then she finally said what was on her mind. She said, " Mommy, Daddy's arm smells like Mac." I said, " Oh yeah, What does mommy's arm smell like?" She replied, " Mommy's arm smells like gummy bears."

I gave the girls their first real hair cut. I am quite proud of myself. It still looks very cute. They have gorgeous long brown hair.
I had a crazy day with Felicity the other day as well. She loves putting things up to her nose to smell it and unfortunately things up her nose. I was working the computer and the girls were watching TV. All of the sudden she started stomping and screaming. She was grabbing her nose as well. I immediately figured she put something up her nose. (which is not a new thing) I finally got her to tell me what she did. She said that she put a bead up her nose. AH... are you kidding! again? anyhow.. I flushed it with saline and suctioned it, etc etc... The girls were playing a bunch a beads the day before so I guess that is where it came from. Anyway.. I figure it was one of the tiny beads and it probably went on to her stomach because she stopped complaining about it.
About 30 minutes later... Felicity again was screaming the other room... so i ran to find her.. :) Guess what she got into this time?
She got masking tape tangled in her hair. Unfortunately when i tried to help, it got more tangled and stuck even worse. I decided to try a bath to get it out. AND... it did work for part of it. I had to cut out the rest. Thus... is the reason I cut their hair.:) Well i need to cut their cut anyway. It has gotten so long... I left it long ...I just took off about 2 inches.

That's all the exciting stories I can think of right now. I hope you enjoyed my share. :)hehe

As for anything new for me... nah.. I am just full time mommy. :) I am trying to plan some activities with the girls... preschool type stuff. I found a lot of great stuff from the library. Have heard of 5 in a row? I am trying to understand how it works.
OH.. and if you have any advise about sisters fighting and how to stop it. Please advise.. :) They are in tell on each other mode. ...very tiring... :)

Have a wonderful day!

~Kandi

Your girls are three, you might try "Before 5 in Row" it is very similar, but is geared towards preschool activities using pre-school books. It looks fun from the web site. Wish I had known about it before now.

We were at Rebekah's house one day, and Rebekah was taking a nap. Kami went to her Mom's bed and started screaming and crying. She was shaking, We could not figure out what was wrong. Bruce had said that Kami had been trying to get something off the book shelf and knocked over the room freshener, that has oil and several little sticks in it. After she calmed down. We figured she had gotten some of the oil on her fingers, and for some reason, stuck her finger up her nose, and it was burning her. what a way for Rebekah to wake up with her child standing by her screaming at the top of her lungs! Hey great to hear from ya. Keep telling us cute stories. We miss ya.

That is so great to hear how you guys are doing! Your stories had me cracking up. I think what they are going through must be pretty typical, because mine do the same thing. I love the gummy bear comment! Miss you & can't believe it has been so long since I've seen y'all. Hope things are going great!

Ok. I've been to the homeschool store. For your girls right now, you definitely want "Before Five in a row" It is perfect for their current age. It is great preschool material. The library should have most of these books. You may already have a few too. 5 in a row starts at the kindergarten level. It needs to be supplemented with phonics and a math curriculum. I am excited to start this with Kami this summer.

not that I;m saying anything about your parenting but my friend rox read the book "to train up your child" and she said it changed how she parented all together and stopped more of the arguments. Your girls sound precious and Felicity reminds me of my brother and his fascination with nose plugging

Climbing a Mountain :)

How do you my model pose with my hair in wind? :)

I figured it was time for some pictures and updates on the girls.
They are....drum roll........ POTTY TRAINED!! Can you believe it? What a milestone.
They know their ABCs, can count to 20(with a little help),learning how to recognize the alphabet and numbers on paper, we are working on our primary colors.
It is fun to watch them learn and grow. I didn't know they could learn these things so early. I am very excited about it. I am searching for ideas and more learning tools for this age. So if you have any suggestions or websites please let me know.

Our Church services struggles are still difficult but I have learned to just accept it as another milestone. I have tried to incorporate several sit down quiet times at home through out each day hoping that it will help train them to sit through services better. Thank you everyone for your words of encouragement.

As of this weekend... we have fought our first cold of winter. Luckily, it is very mild. Just a low fever and runny nose.. and one tired momma from staying up late 3 nights in row.... building immune systems one cold at a time!

Your twins are so cute. I feel with you in regard to taking them out at church. With our first one, Kathy, she had a high shrill voice, and when her Daddy would go to the pulpit to preach she would start squealing in her high suprano voice, so out I must go. I remember one service when I made 5 trips out, and I wasn't very popular with some older ladies. One told me she thought Kathy had some physical problem. Anyway, I was persistent and I WON!. Kathy learned her Mommy was boss. Hang in there.

Wedding bells....

One of my dearest friends is getting married today. She truly means a lot to me. I love her very much! It is breaking my heart that I will not be there today. So, I wanted to dedicate this blog to her. If you'd like please some advice or best wishes ...
Let her know that dreams really do come true with God on our side.. :) She knows that I am sure but it couldn't hurt to remind her and everyone else.
I love you Amanda and I hope everything turns out the way you planned it today.

advice: give each other a kiss every night as you go to sleep, even if you've had an arugement or disagreement. It helps remind you both that you still love each other and focus on that as you go to sleep.

Something to realize is that, if you are having arguments, that isn't necessarily bad! I've had people tell me that they "never" argue. To me that just says that 1.) they must be pretty bored by now if they always agree on every little thing ;) or 2) they don't communicate period. So, arguing means that you are truly speaking your minds and hearts to each other, which can actually be good, if done in the right spirit and tone. :) So there's my $0.02 ;)
