That last post is almost a year old!

Soooo we're having # 7!!! How's THAT for an update?!
  • praguer
Well now. Congrats!! :) When are you due? Several of my friends/relatives are expecting. I'm due in August. :) (Of course, I'm *only * on #3.)

Last night Frederic was on fb and I was folding laundry and he said, "Do Mitch and Julie have 7 kids?" and I said on autopilot, "Nope just 6!" and then I started to think that if he was asking maybe he knew something I didn't know. And then he said, "oh well not anymore. Julie says they have 7 now!" So we did a little happy dance for your family. We are just thrilled for you guys! Congrats on baby #7! So when are you due?

This afternoon we were eating lunch and someone commented on how we had a HUGE family and they didn't know how we did it with 4 kids. And I just don't see why people think 4 kids is a ton of kids. I mean some days I do think 4 is alot (usually when they are fighting!!) but I could maybe see a comment like that if we had 10 kids or something but 4 really isn't that crazy ya know. I feel like we are just beginning!!

We are planning on coming. We are planning on going to the homeschool camp the last week of Sept and then driving to TN for the meeting the first week of oct. So you can just plan on having your baby while we're there and we'll get to see her. I think that sounds like a great plan!!! Tell her now so she knows when she needs to be born!!

Seriously though I don't know where we are staying (I'm guessing not with you!!!) but we are excited about coming. Me and Frederic and our HUGE family will be happy to stay wherever!

I wish we could stay with you but God had other plans for all of us this time! I just hope part of his plans is for us to meet her while we are there! We would be happy to stay wherever. Now I don't know if everyone would be happy to have us but we would be happy to stay wherever! We are a LOUD bunch (especially Amairah at 2 and 4 and 6 am! She still doesn't sleep through the night!)

Planting some herbs today!

Mint & basil are a must! I hope to find pineapple sage- delicious aroma. Who knows what else I'll HAVE to have?!!!!

Got mint, basil, cilantro, & some lavender. Lowes didn't have much of a selection, so I'll have to go to a good nursery soon.
  • crazy_mama
So much fun! I've never done that and I would love to do it too. Let me know how it goes!

Did your family in Athens have any damage? I saw some aerial views of the damage in Tuscaloosa and that city just looks completely flattened. So many neighborhoods and homes destroyed.

I would love to have some lavender.....the pineapple sage sounds great.

    So how was your weekend?!?!?!
    by crazy_mama at 04/07/11 9:52PM

Why Why Why??

does going to the dentist have to be SO EXPENSIVE!!!!! UGH!
  • crazy_mama
Good question! The dentist is a luxury isn't it!

We really lucked out here. One of the local dentists has a program called "Give Kids a Smile" and he donates all of his time and materials, as do all of his employees. All four of my children got free check-ups and teeth cleanings, and Ryan had to have three fillings- all free. It's only once a year, but hey, I'll take all I can get!!

Where did you guys go? We went to Snodgrass and King, and they were great about giving discounts when paying cash and because Edwin was a preacher.

For me, we went to a dentist in Florence, AL, who is a member of the church there. He said they get lots of patients from Middle TN because it's near Nashville and the dentists there charge way more than they should. Florence is about 1.5 hours away, which is definitely a doable drive. Just something to think about.

Very true about dental coverage. I never understood that, really. :(

I have a bad tooth, but I am afraid to go and get an opinion. I just avoid that side for chewing and rinse with warm water. Can't do that with the kids though which reminds me....

  • theaunt
I know, but I still don't want to go! I am afraid two are the problem.

Thanks. I did go about a year ago and he said he thought the tooth had a hairline crack and that it would squeeze open when I chewed. He said come back when I can't take it anymore. I am about there. Sensodyne doesn't help anymore. It's going to mean a crown. Unfortuately, I think there is another tooth complaining in the same area.

  • theaunt
I already have one crown! That was plenty. :(

Thanks! It will probably be soon if it doesn't warm up. Cold weather bites!

That's interesting....we just moved back here in Feb. 2009....our daughter Melanie lives here with her daughter. She is a single Mom and we thought we needed to help her out. Hugh was then preaching in Conway, AR. before that we were in Anniston, AL and before that he preached in Mableton, GA.....Louisville, KY and we have been in Budapest Hungary and helped some other christians in Romania and been to Kenya. We thought it was retirement but he is now helping out a new congregation getting started in Madison, GA....they asked him to be the full time preacher in May....so here we go again. We live in Athens and don't plan to move as we take care of Isabella our granddaughter after school. So we drive to services once on Sunday a.m. and mid-week on Thursday. So we are still involved on Wed. eve here in Athens. Needless to say, we stay busy. I am still trying to place where we have seen you. I am old, so it will come to me one day....take care and hope you don't mind if I add you to my friends list? I don't FB so this is it for me besides e-mail.

It's Been FOREVER!!

I can't believe it's been 7 months since I updated. Ir's seems FB has been so much easier/quicker/ etc for others, as well, as I see similar posts to others' Pleo pages. ;-)
Anywho, we are enjoying Middle Tennessee so very much. The church is great & the brethren are eager to teach the Word! We didn't sell our house in GA, yet, but it is being rented, so that makes the mortgage pymt every month- WHEW! We enjoy the house we're in & I hope they don't decide to go up on the rent cause I DO NOT want to move until we buy a house & who knows when that will happen. The kids have made some good friends which is always wonderful. I have taught the middle /high school girls with her & loved it. We did John McArthur's book "12 Extraordinary Women"- very good; I highly recommend it! Mitch & I are working together on a marriage class ("Love & Respect"- Emerson Eggerichs , also a GREAT book!) with some of the young married couples here, who Mitch refers to as the "Young Guns". They are so much fun and encouraging & have such a zeal for God's Word & telling everyone they can. Kerilyn is growing too fast -almost 1 1/2 now, but she is SO MUCH FUN! She's the toy everyone "fights" over. :-)
Can't think of much except I 'm thinking more & more about coming back to Pleo. Lots of reasons I just get fed up w/ FB sometimes- but the ease of it keeps me there for now. Oh well.... Now if i can just remember to check this thing once in a while.
  • nthnswmn
I wish everyone would come back to pleo. It's much more peaceful here. :-)
I'm glad to hear you're enjoying your new home so much. It's a great place and a great group of people.

I got rid of my fb months ago and I'm so glad I did. Like you said, it has it's benefits but there were many reasons I needed to close my account and I'm glad I did! So glad to read this update from you. I was pretty jealous that Frederic got to see you a couple weeks ago. I was home SOOO sick so you might not have wanted to see me! Glad all is going well with you guys! Post again sometime soon!!

Glad to hear you are having such a great time! Wonderful work!! I totally agree with you on FB. I dislike it, but keep up because my kiddos are on there (well one kid, one young adult now - scary!) I miss you guys and hope to visit one day - unfortunately, not this year, but Lord willing...maybe next year!! I enjoy Pleo a gazillion times more...but I rarely have anything to say :-/

So glad you're enjoying your new home. FB is addictive. But no one has much to say - just a short blurb. I want to say, "But what's *really* going on in your life?!" :)

Saw your note on "Praguer"....hope you don't mind that I sneeked a peek....Your picture on the right looks familiar....where have I seen you before. This is Ginny Walton....right now we live in Athens, GA but Hugh used to preach in Alabama and Arkansas.....we have lived lots of places. Hugh's brother Bill preaches in Chattanooga TN and has been there for a long time. Maybe we have just run into each other at a gospel meeting or church service somewhere. Your husband looks more familiar to me than you do. Hope you don't mind me being so inquisitive?
And yes, going to the dentist is very expensive.....most insurances don't pay much on dental. Boo!
Have a great weekend...look forward to hearing from you.
