Sleep-walkers.

Does anybody in your family sleep walk? Our sons have done/do that. Luke is 13 and when you wake him up from the couch to go to bed...he does things like..walk in the pantry saying that he is looking for the time. :-)

I was a sleep walker. My family has some funny stories they like to tell about me...some of which I may deny!! lol I have been known to eat in my sleep. We have had some fun moments with Emma when we wake her up from the sofa and try to send her to bed. Fun to hear stories of others that do the same... :)

"Looking for the time"--too funny! We had 2 sleep-walkers. We made double sure the doors were locked because we would find them in the morning in another location in the house. When Jared was 3, we found him curled up in an antique baby crib that we were using as a magazine holder. We're in the process of doing his wedding video and found the picture the other day. He takes up every inch of the space inside it to the extent that we wondered how he even got inside. Our oldest son, Jeb, talked in Spanish during his sleep when he was in high school. Guess it is fitting that he is preaching in Mexico now.

Peyton did for a bit. My friend Steph does it at times She works 3rd shift and sometimes needs to catch up and then she will pass out for 24 hours asleep but eat and text me without knowing it. It is always interesting.

The Fright that Came to Murfreesboro

  • tommyswife
Tornados are so scary. Growing up in Xenia, I am terrified. I hope that you guys are okay and did not suffer any major damage. I did not hear about this one or I would have been checking on ya!

I guess I've been under a rock. Are y'all okay? Did any brethren loose their homes?

That is terrible! Did you hear the tornadoes? Do you have a basement?

I guess that is the good thing about hurricanes. You know for days and days that it's coming and you can prepare. Not so much with a tornado.

I am glad you all are OK.

God created the forces that create hurricanes and tornados but as powerful as they are the Power that created them is so much greater. I take comfort in that.

I saw a lot of these pics on the news, too. I just hate that!!! I haed a friend that lives in the Blackmon community that got hit so hard. THANKFULLY his house just had very minor damage while others all around him are devastated. I have been keeping these people in my prayers.

Scareeee!! We had tornado warnings too and a hail storm and lost a big tree in our front yard. It is good that no Christians in the area were harmed. I guess everyone has loads of limbs and trash to clean up. So thankful you are safe.

Kelsey Harris joins her Savior

Today the call came about Kelsey...the 15 yr. old girl from Arkansas that battled a brain tumor for quite some time.

Never have I known a young person to find so much joy in being a Christian. Even before she knew of her illness...she was a "light" to all around her.

She is now pain free. She now receives her crown. She now knows what we are still hoping for.
  • justg
I am sorry for your loss.

Wish I could haveknown her, but have heard such impressive words about her. She lost an earthly battle and won a heavenly one--What peace inspite of loss her family must feel.

NEW SISTER IN CHRIST

Wilson baptized a 21 year old young woman who was Catholic. She is so eager to learn.

We took her out for supper tonight and I loved this comment....

"Wow...this is so cool eating with the minister and his family. I don't think I would have ever eaten with my priest."

Got to love it!

Yes, there are so many things we can learn form former Catholics. I have great respect for them.

How great is that! It is fun to hear of the gospel of Christ working in someone's heart! The south would be fine, if it was not so far away from our families. We are not ruling anything out so who knows where we will be! I love Florida and South Carolina, but we shall see!

There is ALWAYS Hope

Every Sunday morning I have a one on one study with a young woman. She is pregnant for the second time...not married...different dads.

Obviously, she has made some decisions that continue to have consequences and have associated her with people that she wishes would go away. BUT...she is trying to live right and is making changes in her life. I love watching the transformation and her hunger for God's word.

But it also makes me realize that even though someone repents of wrongs...they still need A LOT of encouragement to do right. How often we hug a penitent heart...but never take the time to stay in their life on a consistent basis.

I am proud of this young woman.
Never... ever... give up on people.

Beautiful thoughts and so true. Sometimes we kill our own wounded thru either lack of interest or criticism. They need encouragement and love. Glad to hear more about your study and the positive growth. You are such an encouragement to me.

So true, repentence does not negate consequences. But consequences can make us stronger with help from God combined with help from the brethren. I have great admiration for those brethren who have turned their lives around. They serve as an inspiration and example to us all.

so very true. We need to be there for those who are trying to be Christians no matter what their past choices.

I'm so glad she has someone like you that will study with her and love her regardless. You are to be commended on that. So many times brethren are so busy gagging at the things others have done wrong that they can't stop and show them love and encouragement. It seems as though God forgives them of the sin but we don't. Thanks for being an example.
