Yes, there was. The Cowboys have been on this one win-one loss roller coaster all year. they have foiled every opportunity that has been presented to them to take hold of this season and stake there place in the playoff hunt. So while many prognosticators have been picking the Cowboys to beat the colts all week, i had my doubts. C'mon, we're talking about the Colts here. i know they're due, but what makes anyone think it could be the Cowboys. Peyton Manning is a surgeon on the football field, disecting even the stoutest of defenses. Sunday afternoon, i fully expected him to surgically remove the Cowboy's playoff hopes.
I was wrong. My Cowboys made me more than proud today. The defense played with passion and focus. They put pressure on Manning throughout the first half, rendering him as pedestrian as I have ever seen him. When Manning began to make plays, as we knew he most certainly would, the defense kept its head up and didnt let them blow up. The offense had its moments, but did just enought to keep the game close until the end. Romo, my goodness. I was a skeptic when he first stepped on the field, but my confidence in the kid is growing every week. At this rate it will only be a few more games before i begin to completly take good romo performances for granted. Anyway, great effort today. An all-around win. Everyone had a hand in this one, except that idiot kicker. I'm gonna go ahead and put our kicking situation in the "not quite solved" category.

Steve Smith is going to destroy us. We have let far lesser recievers make plays on us this year and have no chance of stopping Steve Smith two years in a row. No doubt he remembers his frustrating day against us last year which ended in his ejection from the game. He will be chomping at the bit to make us pay for that and I will be glad if he doesnt have a hat trick by half time. Meanwhile while we scramble frantically to compensate for Smith, Keyshawn will slowly work the perimiter until he surprisingly has over 100 yards by game's end.
Tony Romo will play with a spark but will just be overmatched by the Panther's pass rush. He will finish with over 300 yards passing and will have at least one touchdown but it will be overshadowed by him matching last weeks 3 interceptions. Julius jones will be held in check for the second game in a row and TO will blow up on the sideline after romo's second pick, will be intended for TO but underthrown.
We will finish with a turnover margin of -3 and will be left reeling after this abysmal performance, wondering what could have been this season.
that is all.

Well i pulled into the Kroger gas station after work this afternoon and the experience was amazing. I strolled up to the gas pump and what transpired next literally brought tears to my eyes. Here's how it went down:
Pump: Are you a Kroger Plus member?
Me: Why yes, Pump, I am a Kroger Plus member.
Pump: Please insert your Kroger Plus card.
Me: (scan my keychain card)
Pump: Please select payment method.
Me: Why i'll pay outside, thankyou, debit.
Pump: Please insert debit card.
Me: (slide my card in and out) There you go Pump.
Pump: Please enter your PIN.
Me: why certainly, my PIN is ****.
Pump: Remove pump or select fuel grade to begin.
Me: Why do you always say that Pump? You know i cant select my fuel grade before i remove the pump. Why dont you say remove pump AND select fuel grade to begin? Saying OR emplies that i have a choice, and is a bit misleading. Anyway, i'll take regular unleaded, as if i could get leaded if i wanted too.
Pump: Regular you say? that will be $1.95/gallon.
Me: (openly weeping) thank you, Pump. We havn't always seen eye-to-eye, but this means alot, and i wont forget it. (insert pump into tank and fill untill full)
Pump: That will be $28.04. Please take your reciept.
Me: Thank you so much, Pump. I love you. And thank YOU Mr. President. God bless you George W. Bush, and God bless America!

Well as i watch the Cowboys beating wind down, i cant help but think that this is exactly what i thought would happen. The exception to that statement is that i never thought Parcells would go to the kid so soon. I applaud the move despite Romo's 3 picks, and honestly hope that Romo continues to start at least the next few games. if he continues to throw 3 pics a half then then maybe we go back to Bledsoe, but i'm ready to give Romo his chance.
I love Drew Bledsoe. He is the consumate professional and i have defended him all year. I watched the pass rush tonight and still thought that there was nothing that Drew could have done. The interception at the end of the half, however, was inexcusable. Veterans just cant make that throw. I wouldnt even have made that throw. But he did and thats why he is no longer out starting QB.
Romo certainly has some learning to do. His second interception was helter skelter to be kind. It was the type of backyard impovisation that has no place in the NFL. And it practially sealed the game when we still had a good chance. But i saw somthing in him that i hope he can harness. He had a spark that the offense responded too, and the giant's defense as well. Defenses simply didnt respect Bledsoe anymore. They came into games planning on blitzing as much as possible, knowing that more often than not they would get the better of the statue. Ususally that doesnt happen to teams that have as many weapons as the Cowboys. That shows the complete disrespect for Bledsoe. Romo has the athleticism to escape the rush and make teams pay when they blitz. not every time mind you, but hopefully enough times to back defenses off. Also, Romo has brought Jason Witten back to the league. Welcome back JW, we've missed you.
Drew, thanks for the effort, and never blaming anyone. thanks for the totally professional attitude you brought to the office every single day. Thankyou in advance for carrying the clipboard and doing everything you can to help Romo find his way in this league. You are a special person and a talented passer. You have absolutly nothing to be ashamed of. You are done, relax and enjoy the view.
Romo, you're in. Be young, have fun, win games.

A magical Sunday in the NFL has set the stage for a pivotal showdown between the Cowboys and Giants on Monday night. The Eagles looked to have pulled out the comeback when Michael Westbrook scored with 33 seconds left to take a one-point lead. The game was supposed to be over but nobody told the Bucs rookie qb, who drove them into feild goal postion (well kindof) with 4 seconds left. Matt Bryant lined up to kick a 62 yarder and actually nailed it. 62 yards! Bryant's contract is worth just over 2 million dollars, but the look on Donovan McNabb's face when that kick went through, PRICELESS! The Redskins followed that up by losing to the Colts (dying of shock), dropping them to 2-5 and way out of the NFC East picture. That means that the winner of the Cowboys(3-2) vs. Giants(3-2) will take sole possession of first place in the division.
And that is why the Cowboys will lose, and probably big. The pressure is on and as we have all witnessed Bledsoe is not at his best under pressure. To make matters worse the giants possess arguably the best defensive end duo in the league which bodes terribly for Drew. On the flip side our stout defense will be challenged immensely. Tiki Barber, a devout republican (good people), will no doubt force me to curse his name. Eli also has a talented assortment of recievers to throw too, even if they are thugs. The Cowboys need to bring their A game. In fact they need an A+. Heres betting they dont bring it.
Giants 34, Cowboys 20
