twas the night before first grade...

...and i can't get anyone to go to sleep!!! colton had an extra late nap and at 9 he still hadn't eaten dinner. lauren is just to full of questions to calm down even though she is exhausted. and cory keeps coming in here (i am sitting with lauren to try to speed this process up) and asking questions!!! AUGHHHHH!!! oh well, i tried to get her in bed early but things just didn't work in my favor tonight!!!

for those of you who knew (since i haven't posted in awhile it is just locals) our trip to denver to see the sis and bro-in-law went great. we went to the zoo, to downtown, the older boys (cory and dan) went for a hike up a mountain, sheri and i went shopping to buy last minute school clothes i didn't realize we needed until now, we hung out at a park and the kids went to the pool a couple of times. if texas weather...make that nacogdoches weather were as nice as denver's i could see me being a more outdoorsy girl... but NOT in this east texas hot and humid climate! kids did really well all week and we even drove all night to get home faster! it made the 17 hr trip more bearable! :)

my ladies bible class will start up again next week, and i am looking forward to talking with my gals again soon... it's been 3 weeks since we met last and i am missing them greatly! i have made myself some goals for the fall, hopefully i will stick with these and get these tasks completed before christmas time. that gives me what 3.5 months to get them done before the holiday crunch time. keep your fingers crossed for me to "stay on task" and not get distracted easily!

hope all is going well with my pleo friends. now that bedtimes will be routine again (that is usually when i pleo) i can keep up with you all better and post more as well. so if i ask some question to you that you have already covered in any post this summer, just realize that i probably haven't read it as i think i can count the times on one hand that i have gotten on here!

anyway...looks like one is finally down for the count! yippee!!! now one more to go and the hubby can take care of himself! :) night night!

First grade already? WOW! Sounds like you had a fun trip to Denver. It was beautiful when my family vacationed there quite a few years back.

Wow it's been awhile....and it will be longer...

...before you get anything substantial (pictures) out of me! We have VBS starting Monday and I am teaching one of the classes and getting the room ready, all while dealing with what is seemly a revolving sick door around here. First Colton, then me, then and now Cory and then back to Colton tonight with something different! AUGHHHH! Add this to the challege I gave myself this summer, to teach a ladies bible class from the book I Love Me I Love Me Not at my house each week, and needless to say I don't have time to post pictures! But I do have them and will get some up soon. Lauren's 6th birthday (Tinkerbell) was a great success with 15 fairies running around my house because it decided to have a massive storm that evening. Colton got his 1st haircut from an actual stylist....he cried, no screamed bloody murder while Cory AND I had to hold him down, but smiled for the picture afterwards! Lauren graduated Kindergarten in true stylish fashion and then the ladies class started. So that is a summary of May. I hope to catch up reading all your blogs soon...ok maybe in a few weeks! :)

if you get the chance, go read some of it. it is little stories and tidbits. i can't tell if it is lots of people writing on one site or just one person (i haven't gotten that far yet) but there are too many things that i can identify with but would never admit!

Rain rain go away...

In the past 5 years we have lucked out and had beautiful weather for all of Lauren's outdoor parties...doesn't look so good this year. We have a 60-80% chance of rain all day and are to expect about 4 inches on Friday alone!!! Guess our luck has run out! Oh well, time to make a plan B... and clean the house for 40 people I didn't expect to be in it for more than a bathroom break!!! :) Better get back to it and I am ruling out any pixie dust games!!! :)

Friday is my husband and my grandmother's birthday too! Cool!

This tme 6 years ago...

…I was fat and pregnant! Some of you were there and remember it! But in just a few short days my baby girl will be six! I call her my baby but she is far from it. She has grown and blossomed into quite a sweet little lady but of course I am sure every mother says that too! But anyway, the day is quickly approaching (her birthday is Friday) and we are busy as always getting together this years bash. The theme this year… Tinkerbell! And it will be her first girls only party and even Colton may even go stay with a grandmother during the party. Upon arriving to this very festive event the little girls will get all “pixied up” with glittery fingernail polish and blush. After a few snacks they will search high and low for little fairies all over the yard so that they can bring back 2 different ones earning them their wings and tutu’s. Later we will play games that include more pixie dust and wands…what fun! There have been 20 little girls invited so it may be really girly around here that evening!

On other news we are enjoying our Lectureship going on Monday through Thursday at Stallings Dr. Jim Ward and Chuck Durham are doing a great job speaking about different topics discussed in Hebrews. If you have time, we would love to have you visit!

Well I better get going now. More tutu’s and wands to make on top of laundry! Hope you all are doing well. Hopefully I can post a few pictures after the party is all done! Wait, I have another function to throw on Saturday night…well maybe within a few days I can get picts up!

Sorry we're missing the Fri party but glad we can come to the Sat one. I told Paula and JoJo but haven't had a chance to tell you, Jay put Reagan to bed the other night. She wanted a stuffed animal that was in another room. Jay told her to start her prayers while he went to get the stuffed animal. When he came back he paused at the door to listen to her. She thanked God for Mommy and Daddy and Maggie, for all the people in the world and for Lauren. :o) Can't wait for this summer so they can get together more!

Sounds like it will be lots of fun! Faith is into Tinkerbell too, but I think we are going with a Wizard of Oz party this year... if she still likes Tink next year- I might have to steal a few of your ideas!
