WASHINGTON, DC – American Solutions for Winning the Future announced today that more than half a million Americans have now signed a petition urging Congress to immediately start drilling for oil domestically to lower gas prices. The petition is part of the “Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less” campaign American Solutions launched a few weeks ago.
The petition reads:
“We, therefore, the undersigned citizens of the United States, petition the U.S. Congress to act immediately to lower gasoline prices (and diesel and other fuel prices) by authorizing the exploration of proven energy reserves to reduce our dependence on foreign energy sources from unstable countries.”
According to American Solutions’ new research data, 81% of the American people support the U.S. using more of its own domestic energy resources, including the oil and coal already here, to combat the rising cost of energy and reduce dependence on foreign energy sources. This belief is so widespread it is supported by a majority of Democrats, Republicans, and independents.
“Hard-working American families are struggling to pay the soaring prices for gas, diesel, food, electricity, and everything else affected by the high price of oil,” said Dave Ryan, American Solutions Executive Director. “The voices of more than half a million Americans are united in demanding that Congress offer real solutions to our energy challenges, starting with taking immediate action to drill here and drill now.”
As the “Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less” petition drive continues to gain more momentum, American Solutions plans to deliver 3 million signatures to both parties at their national conventions.
I have signed the "Drill Here. Drill Now. Pay Less." petition on AmericanSolutions.com because to lower gasoline prices and reduce our dependence on foreign oil, we need real solutions to our energy challenges.
I hope you will sign the petition as well. Please sign the petition today at: www.americansolutions.com
Please pass this to your friends.

James parents came for a visit this past weekend. We were able to take Charlie to his first Braves Game. Me Maw and Poppie bought him a hat and a bat with a ball. He had so much fun! We sat near the big drum and he was totally mesmerized by it.
Charlie will be 10 months old next week. It is so hard to believe. The time has flown by. He is getting really good at walking hanging on to the couch. I keep waiting for him to let go and take off running. He says Dada and bye bye and will play peek - a - boo. We are so blessed with a great baby. He almost never cries. Everyone talks about what a great disposition he has. I have people in the store stop me and ask, “Is he like that all of the time??” They are amazed when I tell them he is always that happy and smiley. He is such a sweet little man!
He gave out waiting for Me Maw and Poppie to come.

If you push and I push, maybe we can escape?

This is Charlie in his new Exersaucer (SP?) He loves to bounce and roll and spin all the toys on it.

Charlie at the park (not a happy camper here).
Charlie is crawling along like a champ and has recently started to pull himself up to stand (though they said at his Daycare that he had been doing so for a while {he was just hiding it from Mommy and Daddy}) Tonight whilst at dinner he was chewing on his fingers and saying the usual "da da da da da" and then looked up at me and screamed "Daddy" Ha Ha! One for the good guys!! We'll be in Tallahassee on the 16th so some of you will see us there. Nothing else to report on this front...oh, I'm an uncle again. My brother Chuck and his wife Sabrina welcomed Stephen Charles Barr III "Trey" on April 24th. 8lbs 15 oz and 20.5" long. So the circle is now complete. The 3 brothers have each had a son to pass on the name. Of course, we all owe many thanks to God and our wives without whom this would not be possible. Much love to all!
