Back from 5 weeks of vacation. Everyone is safe & sound. My first Lord's day back with the brethren from my 'home' congregation. I am truly blessed. Praise God!

I just opened my page to find that my last post was made ONE YEAR and TWO MONTHS AGO!! I'm still a bum! That would make this my "Rocky II" quasi-millenial Pleonast post (if you're not sure what I'm talking about, see my previous post). Does that mean that in 16 months I can get Mr. T to guest star on my "Rocky III" blog...

MR. T: I don't hate Jay Polk - I pity the fool! I pity any fool that can't blog mo' than once a year!

JAY: You ain't so bad! You ain't so bad!

MR. T: Oh yeah? At least I can type using more than just my two index fingers!!!

JAY: (sometimes i use my thumb on the space bar...)

MR. T: What's that fool? Did you just say something?

JAY: Well... You're just a... Oh, never mind, my index fingers are kinda tired. I can't go the distance.

Wow!

I just logged on to do my quasi-millenial check up on my blog page, and it was EMPTY!! Was I tossed out for lack of participation? I'm shocked and dismayed! I feel like Rocky Balboa in the first "Rocky" film.

(PARAPHRASE)
ROCKY: Yo Mick, how come you took my gear outta my locker and hung it out on 'Skid Row'?

MICKEY: 'Cuz You're a bum!

ROCKY: I ain't no bum.

MICKEY: You're a bum!!

ROCKY: I ain't no bum.

Etc., etc.

O.K. Now I get it. And like Rocky, I'm gonna become the Heavyweight Blog Champ of Da Woild! I'm skippin' rope. I'm hittin' the heavy bag. I'm starin' down into a glass full of half a dozen raw eggs, and as I bring it to my lips I realize.... I AM a bum! See you all next quasi-millenium (if the Lord wills).

I have nothing particularly interesting of my own to contribute, but since I haven't posted in a while, I thought I should contribute something. So, I thought I would share a Psalm that I happened across on my Bible software this evening that I found heartening. A great and loving God rules over us. I pray that He will bestow many blessings upon you (I know He has done so for me)!


PSALM 8

For the director of music. According to gittith. A psalm of David.

O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens.
2 From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise because of your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.
3 When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
4 what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?
5 You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor.
