It's A ...!!!

...BABY!!!! Most of you probably already know, but here is the official announcement: Blake and I are having another baby! I am due May 1st and have been sick, SiCk, SICK for the past 7 weeks; thus, my posting absence. I am in my 15th week now and feeling MUCH better, which I am so thankful for. We find out the baby's gender on December 10th. Still not totally back to normal-functioning status, but I'm glad to be getting stuff around the house done without needing a babysitter to take care of me and Jailyn. Speaking of, THANKS so much to YOU for coming up all those times to help out! We love you!

Jailyn has become hormonal...ok, not literally, but I'm pretty sure she has the mood swings of a teenager. I guess it's not easy constantly growing and getting your "big" teeth in. I feel for her, it has to be painful. We had a great Halloween! Jailyn went trick-or-treating for the first time and did great. I was expecting a small disaster with all the scary costumes about and going house-to-house, but she did awesome. She loved getting candy and trying to go in everyone's house ;) She was the cutest baby blossom on the block! Check out my Facebook photos if you want to be overtaken by cuteness! Ha Ha Turns out the only disaster of the night was me! I seem to have forgotten that laying in bed for 7 weeks straight can cause some muscle wasting. I was carrying Jailyn and trying to squat under the camera while Blake was taking pictures. Turn out, I couldn't come back up to a full stand and down we went. My knees broke the fall, since my hands were full, and Jailyn and I went into the grass (except for my knees, of course-they hit concrete). I'm just glad Jailyn wasn't hurt, she didn't even cry. My knees were scratched, bruised and swollen for over a week but are doing much better now. Go ahead and say it...I'm a goober, I know.

The holidays are right around the corner and our house is in the holiday spirit! Jailyn definitely inherited Blake's love for Christmas. While at Target the other day, we went through the Christmas aisles. She was dancing around, pointing at all the ornaments and snowmen and looking at each and every Christmas card...definitely gave me some holiday cheer. These times are so much more fun with kids :) We are having Christmas here at the house-TWICE! I must be crazy but it will be nice not having to worry about driving to the in-laws for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. Got to start planning those menus...

Oh yeah, Blake and I are taking a little trip to Kauai the first week of December. Doc won't let me do much but play in the water, but that's ok. It will be great to relax and spend some time alone to rejuvenate.

I guess that's all for now. Hopefully I haven't been gone so long that everyone has written me off ;) Love you all!

I think I've lost my mind! That can happen to a person trapped indoors with Shingles. May I add that having shingles is NO FUN and very painful. Most of you know I do not tolerate pain well at all, so this has been a real trial for me ;) I hope and pray the worst is over now. My rash looks much better and I haven't had to take any Vicodin today...YIPEE! Maybe tomorrow I can get out and run some errands after my doctor's appointment. I'd give anything to run errands. Gotta get ready for VBS in Baytown next week...as long as the Doc gives me the ok tomorrow...I've really been looking forward to meeting up with friends and hanging out like old times. But there is much to do...

My sweet seester is here taking care of Jailyn and I today! She is so funny, she keeps me smilig :) Since this little virus has knocked my feet out from under me there have been SO MANY who have helped by bringing dinner (I haven't had to worry about a meal for at least a week), watching Jailyn, doing laundry and cleaning up the house (Blake did a lot of that too!). Not to mention the numerous texts, phone calls, and comments on Facebook! I feel so blessed to have you ALL in my life! You know who you are and what you've done and words fall short of explaining my appreciation to you. I am so blessed!

Other than the Shingles, we have all been doing very well. Blake is workin', workin' selling those swimming pools. It has been a HOT summer. Saturday we have the circus...I'm really excited to see how Jailyn likes it since she is so in love with animals. This morning, one of our dogs (yes, the BAD one) ran out of the front door when I opened it to move my plants back on the porch. Jailyn was standing out on the driveway and I was yelling at Cloey across the street in my Snoopy PJ's to get back in here...she wasn't listening, as usual. ANYWAY, two rabbits started running across the neighbors yard and Jailyn was so excited she took off after them. Scared me to death (not that she could ever catch up to them-they're very fast. I picked her up and we made rabbit noises at them until I (emphasis on I) got tired. Kid definitley loves animals!

Oooo, it's thundering. I think I'll get back to resting ;)

I'm happy to hear you are feeling better.....................my dog does exactly what your dog does. I also go by the door (many times in my pajamas) yelling for him to come back...............I try hard to discipline my girls, but my dachshund, he is spoiled rotten! ;-)

If that post made you hungry, I'm going to soon be adding two more pics of two new delicious tries I did this week......next time I'll cook double and treat you, even if you don't have shingles anymore.

It seems this time of year is so much more crazy than any other time of the year for us. I don't know what it is about summer time.

Let's see, what have we been doing?

Jailyn is a pro-walker at this point. She is here and there and everywhere! Not to mention, so are her toys. It's a little disturbing to feel an ooey-gooey pig squish between your toes when you walk in to what you think is an empty bathroom. Thanks Amy! Jailyn loves those piggies!

VBS started on Monday and goes through Friday, from 10:00 - 11:30 if you're in the Cy-Fair area. Technically, this isn't Jailyn's first one, but it is her first time to really participate. She loves to hear the songs and she does pretty good waving her finger around on "This Little Light of Mine." I am really enjoying seeing her try to participate. Since she likes it so much, I may try to take her to Eastside's VBS at the end of July.

We (Amanda, Cody, Jailyn, I & occasionally Blake have been going to the pool each week. Jailyn was a little suspicious of this cold, wet substance at first. But now, she LOVES the pool. She splashes the water around and chills out in her little float. She is so her Daddy's daughter, I have not seen a more laid back child. Not to mention, she has a really nice tan going! How come I just burn? No fair...

A few weeks ago we took our first car trip with Jailyn. We went to Dallas to see Blake's nephew graduate from high school. Jailyn did pretty good on the drive up-she slept and (sort of) watched a movie. She doesn't really watch much TV at all, which is probably a blessing. I say probably because even though I'd like for her to be occupied every now and then so I can get some things done, she won't be one of those kids who I have to force outside to play. She loves the outdoors. Anyway, we stopped halfway to eat some lunch and that's where our trouble started. She was no longer sleepy and wanted to play...kind of hard when you are buckled in. She screamed for about an hour and then fell asleep. I was pretty frazzled by the time we arrived. The trip home went a lot smoother. I'm not sure why, but I'm THANKFUL!

Tonight we are going to see the midnight release of Transformers! Blake is muy excited :) I am a little too. Jailyn will be spending the night with her Nana for the first time. I will go pick her up tomorrow around lunch. I'm going to miss my little lady but it will be nice to have a kid-free evening.

26 days later...
The milestone of Jailyn's first birthday has up and passed me by as the new milestone of her first steps has arrived!
That's right, Jailyn took her first steps on Memorial Day. Luckily, I was able to catch it on video before
she puckered out. I'll keep this post short on words and let the slideshow and videos do the talking!

Nathan is only 7. It breaks my heart. He is such a cutie. I taught him in Bible class when he was 2 or 3. :) He has a big sis who is 10 and I hate to think of what she will go through when he goes to Paradise. So glad she has such awesome parents who will help her through...and she will help them too, probably without realizing it.
