Survival and Success

I just need to make it through this afternoon.

Tonight, I am being kicked out of my house because there is a lingerie shower being thrown there (or as it is more accurately named- an undies party). Being kicked out is not so bad though when you have several friends converging in one place to slaughter each other in what can only be described as a digital destruction party (Halo 3, Call of Duty 2/4).

I just need to make it through this afternoon.

Tomorrow we have our Tuesday night bible study at a friend's house which promises lively discussion and disagreement over whether God will literally tell us what color car to buy. Technically the class is about Faith, but that only narrows it down to 63 of the books of the bible.

I just need to make it through this afternoon.

Wednesday I get to teach a "New Songs" class at church and we are currently working our way through all of the beautiful new devo songs typically heard only at Christian Universities. Does it get any better than dozens of friends singing heart-breakingly beautiful songs?

I just need to...you know...

Thursday is the glorious trip to KC to hear the amazing Chris Martin and Co. play music that strums my very heart-strings. I will test the above stated rhetorical question.

I just...

Then Friday begins the 3-day backpacking trip along the Buffalo River in Arkansas with 3 good friends in 45 degree weather. We even get to ford a river- like something out of Lord of the Rings.

I just can't justify worrying about this afternoon with so many good things ahead.
