Well What Do Ya Know?!

Its been a while since my last update and some changes have happened in my life. I quit my job at the blood center and interviewed with Enterprise Rent A Car. That was quite possibly the most intimidating interview I have ever had. There are 3 interviews you have to go through, a phone interview with a recruiter, a interview with the Area Manager, and a interview with the Regional Manager. I was lucky enough to get to go the last two together. They were pulling all sorts of mind games on me like switching places in the middle of the interview and talking to me and then walking out and the other guy walk in and start asking me questions. It took an hour and a half and was over at 9:30 but I felt like taking a nap.

I then went on a trip to BG to see Julia and all my BG friends to go to HolidayWorld. While i was in line for a ride when Enterprise called and offered me the job. I was thrilled! I didnt think the interview went well and so I was surprised. It was a huge burden lifted off of my shoulders. I had been looking for a job since November and nothing seemed to happen. My life was on pause and all my goals were put on hold for 10 months. That was a very frustrating feeling. But know after many prayers had been answered, I have a job that will allow me to start my life. I am waiting on a phone call that tells me my start date.

Anyway thats all the things going on in my life. I hope everyone is doing well.

God Bless

FreeCreditReport.com, Tell you friends, tell you cat, tell your mom....

Hey PleoNation,

I'm digging the new Pleo, it's cleaner and more user friendly. I hadn't updated in a few months so I thought I would catch the 4 people who read this up with my life.

I am still working at the Blood Bank, just got my 90-day raise, weee! I am still desperately looking for full time work. I will keep you posted on progress.

Football can not get here soon enough. For a non-baseball fan, the summer is the most boring sports months of the year. I am starved for some good college football.

It's been nice being home for a while for the first time in 5 years. I have been home for going on 7 months now and I am happy to be here. I missed my brother and nephew growing up and the fall in the Ozarks and football season for too long. I miss everyone in BG still but I think I made the right decision to come home.

July 4th is this weekend and my love will be here tonight. I can not WAIT!

Hope everyone is having a great summer

God Bless

Poot

Well, I am in a Sleep Inn in Springfield, MO watching the NIT tournament. I am here for job training for the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks. It's been an interesting(boring) few days. Here are the highlights:

1. After getting through the initial HR intro junk, I went to the distribution center and watched what I would be doing in a few days. My supervisor was a tall, lanky, skinny woman around 27 years old (this plays into the story later). She was showing me things to look for before packaging the blood. Chunks of things in the blood, fat cells in tubes, fibers in the red blood cells....things like that. All the sudden, I couldn't feel my legs, I got dizzy and asked to sit down. What happened next? You guessed it. I passed out in the arms of my supervisor, but due to her size compared to my size, she dropped me and I nailed the concrete floor and was unconscious. After coming to a few moments later and realizing what happened, I got some ice and was better within an hour. I had no idea I would react that way! I hate needles but Ive never had a problem with blood. Anyway, I am not "that guy" to everyone at the blood center. The guy who passed out. Jeez.

2. The Sleep Inn I am staying in is kinda scary. The bed I'm sleeping in is against the wall. I had to learn to sleep on only one side of the bed because the side facing the wall definitely smells like someone peed in that corner. Yuck...every other trainee stays in a Candlewood Suites with sofas and kitchens, but for some reason, they put me and only me in the sleep inn. Thanks Blood Center people....

Anyway, thats really it. This is the most work I've had to do for a simple part time job. I have to train for 4 days and take tests to be sure I understand FDA and AABB and ABC regulations...i dont even know/care what that stands for. But its a job, which I needed desperately.

Update on the Sara Lee job, it was given to a Wal-Mart executive that was laid-off. Stupid economy definitely has it out for the college grad!

On a good note, I got to eat at Mr. GoodCents sub shop. BEST ITALIAN SUB EVER!!!

Hope everyone is loving life. Happy Birthday to the love of my life!
God Bless

March Madness

Well I thought it was about time for an update. I FINALLY got a job. I will be a Distribution Rep for the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks. It'll be part time and not exactly what I wanted to do but it will work until I can find something better in Fayetteville. I am trying hard to get a job with Sara Lee (as in the bread) as a Product Manager working with Wal-Mart. I really want that job. After having a 14 week Christmas vacation, I was just glad to get a job so I'd have something to do! This blood bank will be cool for a while. I have to store, pack, and deliver blood, platelets, and plasma to area hospitals. I start on the 23rd by traveling to Springfield,MO for training. I'm not looking forward to that. It'll be something out of town so that'll be good.

I am trying to get to BG as soon as possible. I would ideally like to be there for Thunder over Louisville and WKU graduation. We'll see if thatll happen. I miss my BG friends. It can get lonely here sometimes.

My brackets seem to be busted. I dont think i have ever done this bad in the first round. All of my final four teams are intact but im getting nervous. It was great to see WKU win their first game. I have them going to the Sweet 16 again.

Well hope things are going well with yall

God Bless
