I've kinda forgotten about pleonast!

This has turned out to be a busy year! We have so much going on all the time. Let's see what's new with us?...

Josh is loving Chuy's and is doing quite well there! I don't doubt they would ever question making him manager. With the economy the way it has been they seem to be busier than ever. So that's good news for him.

The kids just had some dental work done. Emma had 5 or 6 fillings and 2 caps. And Luke had 4 fillings and 2 caps. The have inherited Daddies bad acidity that eats at their enamel faster! :( But they did great. They gave them what they call there a margarita on an empty stomach, which made them not care about anything. They had the red flyer wagons to push them around in to keep them calm. They were great with them. I cried when they took each of them back. They had to put breathing tubes up their noses and everything. It was pretty major for not so major work. I am just grateful that it is taken care of and done.

Emma is about to start Kindergarten and I am so sad! It just seems like yesterday I was doing everything for her and she needed me for everything. Not saying she doesn't now but she's just so grown up, and opinionated and talkative and just not my little baby anymore.

Luke is talking up a storm!! And he's so big! He weighs as much as Emma but is 2 years younger. I get asked all the time if they are twins. He's still a Mama's boy and is just as sweet as sweet can be!

As for me, I am going to start teaching guitar lessons and I am so excited! Our band instrument repair business is growing and it's been an awesome opportunity. I just went on a trip to Shreveport with my Step Mom and little brother Jordan. It was a nice little break and was super fun! We were at Shelley's godparents house right on the lake. It was so peaceful and to see the sunset every night there on the water you couldn't help but feel GOD's awesomeness! Just beautiful! But I missed my family so much! I'm still fighting migraines and really need to go get things checked out. It's just getting ridiculous.

Well I think that's it for now! I hope and pray you are all doing well!

It's A Scary World

This past week has been LONG!!!! My nephew (Josh's brother's kid) came and spent his spring break at our house!! It was so good to have him and let the kids spend time with their cousin. But I tell you, it is really sad to see some of the things that this 6 year old child was talking about. First off, he was cussing and saying things like stupid, dumb, dang it, which I don't like for my kids to say. There were things that I won't even mention that he did, and he thought was so funny, that I was completely apalled!! How can parents think it is OK to teach their children these things.

But I tell you what...after chruch services Wednesday night, we came home, and while I was making him a drink, he came up to me and said, "Aunt Crystal, can I stay with you forever and go to church with you every day???" That right there made me cry. He was crazy about Mrs. Pam! But he kept asking both his Mom and I if he could stay til Sunday so he could go to church with us!

It's a great feeling to know that maybe you can change one person's life just by bringing them to services or talking to them about the LORD. Isn't GOD amazing?!?!?
  • notcool
:-) I'm sure you're glad the week is over. Hope he can come again for a short visit. I hope you will be an influence throughout his life.

Leaves Fall, GOD Doesn't

With Josh's new job has come a lot of staying home. I haven't been able to go and do things that I want to, like ladies Bible class and take the kids to the park and go see friends. I've had this horrible case of cabin fever again. You know that feeling where all the days seem the same, and even just going to H-E-B or just going to check the mail makes you feel SO much better? But I then I feel horrible feeling that way because I know there are so many others out there struggling right now and people can't find a job. We were so blessed by Josh finding a job as quickly as he did. Even though the pay hasn't been grand, but he's hoping to hear back from another place soon.

AND we also may have an awesome oppurtunity on our hands. My Dad and Step Mom are house hunting. And if they do find a house they are going to rent their house to us until our credit is good enough to finance it as our own!! It's 4 bedroom. And even though it is in G-town, it's a HOUSE! But I am trying not to get my hopes up. But that would totally rock my socks off.

I've also been sad thinking about my baby sister leaving. She's about to go off to either UT Arlington or Texas State. All I can think of is that song by Billy Ray Cyrus...Get Ready, Get Set, Don't Go! I can't believe it is time to for her to go. I sometimes still feel like we are 10 years old doing flips on our bunkbeds, or jumping on the trampoline, or me carrying her around like my baby doll. Time sure does fly!! Makes me think how much more I need to be enjoying my kids now. *sigh*

I'm getting my hair did this Friday! I'm so nervous but so excited! A friend of mine who is a hairstylists is doing it for hardly nothing. Is it just me or do you ever feel like there are these certain people whom you always talk to and never seem to say the right thing? I've been donig that lately. I think my desperation for adult conversation is making me try to hard. LOL I am such a dorkus!

Anyway...I leave you with a small piece of The Love Dare I am doing from the movie FIREPROOF...

The scriptures say that "neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor pricilaities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to seperate us from the love of GOD, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:38-39). This is GOD's kind of love. And thankfully--by your choice--it can become your kind of love. But first you must receive it and share it.

  • mandao
Oh man she beat me! What is your sis wanting to study? If she has any questions tell her to feel free to talk to me. Since Tim and I are both UTA alumni we kind of know some of the ropes. Also as Sheri already mentioned it has a great church only about three miles away, with really nice people! :) And then you could come visit and see us! WHat a great idea! No seriously UTA was a great place for us to go and if thats what she chooses we would love to take her under our wings!

I know!!! We need to get together soon. It's hard for me right now, though, because I really don't have many "free" nights. Maybe one day I could come over and bring some tea. Days are a bit better for me. What do you think??

I remember feeling the same way, Crystal! When my girls were small Randy worked very long hours. He would often not get home until nearly 9 pm! Some nights, as soon as he got home, I'd scoot out the door to Michaels - which closed at nine - for about 15 minutes, then next door to Walgreens, which closed at 10. I didn't need to go either of those places. Really had no money to spend at either of those places, but I just had to get out of the house! So don't think you're alone feeling that way. ----- And I thought Dana was going to UNT??

I know how it feels to be happy to go to the grocery store. Sometimes when life seems hard (like when I hurt my back AND my mom was in the hospital at the same time), I would give anything just to go to the HEB and just "window shop" what kind of new stuff they have. Turn off the cell phone and just go out by myself. I can't tell you how happy I was when I was able to go back out again to somewhere other than the hospital in excruciating pain! So, if you are terrible for wanting to get out, then I am too!

Credit Repair

OK so Josh and I are trying to fix our credit but we found out there is a certain procedure you have to go through to have it actually count as good credit. Does anyone know anyone or have any tips at all?

Oh and if anyone goes to GYMBOREE, I have a 20% off coupon if you want it!
  • justjoey
try to get in touch with a credit rehabilitation company. i went through this company called pioneer credit recovery (PCR) and my credit has already drastically improved in less than a year or right around that time.

Dave Ramsey is great. it's a long process to "Financial Peace" or "Total Money Makeover," whichever you do. we still have a long way to go but we have stopped using credit cards and have an emergency fund that we don't touch. we are now working on getting rid of our debt (i put my car up for sale). it's going to take a couple years but you just have to be determined and patient. i highly recommend it!

No, I haven't yet. I'm not sure if they will contact me. I guess I'll have to wait for the April issue. ~ If you have credit cards with a zero balance leave them open instead of closing them.
